How? Universally considered a good deal for both teams.

Its an almost 30 year old oft injured CB making a lot of money.

He got a 3rd, 4th and 6th for Lattimore and a 5th, and got off significant future salary.

That's a great deal, as good as you can hope in a rebuild

How did he get worked?

He got a better return compared to other recent premium CBs who were traded.

A lot of people think of lattimore as this top 5 young corner still.

In reality he’s injured yearly for a decent chunk, and getting a bit long in the tooth, AND expensive.

People are just mad they were told he wasn't getting close to a 1st this past off-season and they dug their heels in and look silly now

Yea

White was once Lattimore’s peer. For an oft injured CB in his 8th year to return relevant draft capital is a huge win

Yup. Good move from Loomis.

It would be nice if he could trade 1 or 2 more guys but doesn't look like that will happen.

White has had major injuries. Hes a shell of what he once was. Almost the equivalent of Ram for us.

I hope he still gets to dominate Mike Evans from time to time.

Of course there was gonna be “tough” moments, but you don’t get rid of 1 of the 4 elite guys on the entire team. Our best players now are…. McCoy, Fuaga, Olave, Shaheed? Maybe Granderson? Come to think of it, nah I guess he was our only truly ELITE player. I honestly don’t give a frick if they get rid of the rest of the team.

Told yall it was a terrible move. Not only is it 1 of if not our only truly ELITE players, but it makes our disastrous cap situation even WORSE next year!

ESPN trade deadline winners and losers

TLDR: Lattimore will hit the 2025 cap for a whopping 31.6 million for a dead cap figure, more than the saints would have paid him to play next season. Commanders only on the hook for $605,000 for the rest of the season.

We're going to suck. Given that he's aging and often injured, maybe attributable to us sucking, keeping him just to say we have a good player instead of getting something for him would be a bad idea.

If I’m looking correctly the Saints have won 3 playoff games with Latt. They not making playoffs this season and he will be a year older next season.

Start getting rid of older players and their contracts, get draft picks if possible.

If you haven’t realized it yet, next year doesn’t matter.

The saints restructured Lattimore in the offseason bc no one would trade for him given the cap hit. No offers. They had to take the hit next year in order to get value

2025 doesn’t matter anyway. He will be off the books after
