We had 6 wins with an easy schedule last year. We should get 8 this year but we'll see.

I hope we have a down year like Chicago last year.

Detroits little window is closed. Cincy sucks with or without burrow plus he'll be hurt anyways

Except Baltimore, Cincy, Chicago, and Detroit just had a down year last year and all have great franchise QBs. They could all be great this year. This schedule is harder than it looks on paper.

And, the when, you play the teams is another hidden factor.

However, I am still hopeful, the Saints can contend for the division title.

Vegas thinks the Saints can make a run at Tampa for the division.

The fun and excitement are back. A credible QB and coaching staff will do that.

There is no reason that we don't have a Patriots-type season this year. The Pats had a good second year QB, a stout D, and played by far the easiest schedule in a down division.

It's from Reddit, so I did not validate the results; but it looks like after the season was played that "easiest schedule" was actually a middle of the pack SOS - 13th easiest

Sure, every game is difficult because it’s the NFL, but the conversation is about comparing schedules across teams since they aren’t created equal. There are 32 teams, but each team only faces 13 different opponents.

Last year, the Saints went 6–11 while facing teams with an average record of .495. If their opponents’ average had been closer to .391, they probably would’ve picked up a few more wins. Conversely, if it had been closer to .574, we’d probably have been looking at a top-3 pick.

There's a blatantly obvious explanation for this. We played the NFC West with Seattle/ San Fran/ Rams. And we played both the Patriots/ Bears who went from 4-13 to SB visits + deep playoff run.

I'd happily eat my words but the fricking Raiders, Cardinals, Browns are NOT making deep playoff pushes or taking that jump. Pitt/ Min are going backwards and the Giants are the only other team that is really an unknown. Oh and we don't play the NFC West this year.

The people arguing that our schedule is difficult are comparable to anyone who said we weren't winning more than 1 game last year.

14-3? There are many reasons, lol. This roster isn’t all that talented. We are improving it, but still another 2-3 seasons away from a Patriots type season. Winning the division is our goal next year.

There's plenty of reasons we aren't winning 14 games.
