adam schefter has been a douche since he started with espn.

he always wants to be at the center of attention. they basically shoved Mort off to the side for this dude.

Schefter is being a real count about this...Unless he was in the locker room and saw Vilma put down 10k in cash during the NFCC game to take out Favre and took a picture while writing down the details.....He has a lot of fricking nerve to throw someone under the bus like that....

Even if money was given out for bounties, no one in their right mind would document the shite..
I hate how that little twerp is so frickin sure of how stiff the punishment is going to be...How could he possibly know that, he isnt frickin pshycic...he is a little dwarf with Napoleon complex who has to be the "news breaker" on all things NFL.

And if these frickin idiots think that the Saints are the only team that goes after players during games, they are badly mistaken

Somebody should put a bounty on Schefter.

If you hurt a guy, and it isn't an illegal hit, does it really matter?

I don't condone it, but I agree. Someone mentioned early in the thread that the whole point is to hit the other player as hard as possible and dislodge the ball. It's not a game of patty-cake. It's football. When you strap on the pads you take the risk of being injured. As long as it's not anything illegal in terms of the specific hits, I think it's hypocritical.

If Williams is doing this as a DC, what did he do as a head coach?

So do we know if anyone ever get paid for a big hit?

I feel like the bounty account should still be pretty full after watching our pussified defense chase people up and down the field last year.

negative. you have an entire network devoted to the NFL and 24 hour sports news cycles. There is no football and the media needs a story. This fits the bill. No way this goes away.

I think it will dissipate just because the players were using incentives to hurt and hit other players which much of the general public would consider that being the point of football. The only people who will be crying about this for weeks will be the Florio's and the fraternity of NFL media douchebags most of which are former players that took part in this kinda crap.

If they were paying for arm tackles, GW might be broke.

As long as we keep our SB title, Drew keeps his records and no one on the offense is suspended who gives a frick?

Vilma is gone now IMO

Where were the "illegal" hits???? Has any Saints Player been fined for an illegal hit? Is there any proof other than the players had some big hits?

Wait to pass judgement until there is some sort of proof. Hearsay is bullshite, and if Goodell passes down sanctions and fines off of hearsay, then the players union will appeal that til the end of the earth.

Jesus fricking Christ. frick you Gregg Williams. He cheated and will frick us over and was still a shitty defensive coordinator. If you're gonna cheat, at least win doing it. God dammit. And now we'll get raped by the League and have a cheater reputation like we're the fricking Patriots. frick him. I really hope this thing is being overblown right now, but with Goodell running the No Fun League I doubt we'll get a light punishment. I was so happy we got rid of him and now this happens. shite.

And yes I'm fricking mad.

I agree with you its the NFL system that failed here if anything the bounties rendered no outrageously blatant penalties at the time.

I would consider paying players to hurt people on the other team cheating.

Well this is extemely unfortunate. What would really suck is that Coach Payton has to resign. He is the head coach and is ultimately responsible of any actions of the team, especially on the field.
