I have always hated espn and their ridiculous power rankings. But the saints have a come from behind victory showing they can handle adversity and actually drop two spots. The rams get plastered and move up a ranking.

Well the Rams didn't jump them. Plus the Steelers are the best team in the AFC and the Vikings beat the Saints head to head.

These rankings don't mean shite so what I am about to say doesn't mean shite, but I have no problem with this ranking.

Methodology: These rankings are based on which teams voters think would win head-to-head matchups. Higher-ranked teams would be favored against lower-ranked teams. Coming off a win doesn't guarantee a jump, and a loss doesn't guarantee a fall.

So they're behind 2 teams that already beat them, a 9-1 Eagles team who keeps looking like the top team in the league and an 8-2 Steelers team. I think 5 is a reasonable spot.

Yal realize we barely snuck away a win at home vs an ok team while rams got beat by a good team.

Like we honestly should be 7-3 if not for the 2nd largest choke job of this calendar year.

Power rankings also doesn't matter.

Not sure I'd call it a choke job. Saints made all the plays necessary to come back. The Redskins were still making plays all the way to the end.

The intentional grounding play was definitely a choke job.

Don't get me wrong, saints and brees dominated down the stretch but to allow that redskins had to have derped it up to allow that to happen.

Every week people argue over power rankings and where we're at. Just pretend we're #1 every week and you'll be OK.

Also, power rankings don't matter in the NFL but it would help us determine how many points Alabama would put up against us.

What...? The WR ran the wrong route and it was a quick pass called. They got unlucky there and the call went our way. If they just call that incomplete they likely kick the GW FG right there after driving down the field with ease.

Not sure how anyone is trying to discredit that win. 1/3 of our starting defense was out with guys like Harris and Mauti trying to cover pass routes. Despite that we still held an elite QB in check just long enough for Brees and Co. to go down the field and execute the comeback.

Who gives a crap about their stupid rankings? This ain’t college.
These are the same idiots that thought Manning would slay the Saints in the SB

Call it what you will, regardless, it is a WIN !!

I have watched the Saints play for over 35 years, and many times I have seen them snatch a loss from the jaws of victory.

It's good to see another team choke and the Saints benefit for a change.

Can make an argument one way or the other truthfully. Id rather be perceived as the #1 team than the #5 team but not that absurd that:

#1 is Eagles - best record in NFL

#2 is Patriots - They have the same record as the hottest team in the NFL (Saints) and beat the hottest team in the NFL (Saints)

#3 is Steelers - arguably the best team in AFC

#4 is Vikings - They have the same record as the hottest team in the NFL (Saints) and beat the hottest team in the NFL (Saints)

#5 - Saints
