Smith is really solid but he’s a rookie.

Our WRs outside of Mike have a total of 40 receptions combined. We could use more production.

I'm actually really hoping we can get this done today. He'd be perfect on the field.

I don’t think Bryant is a #1 anymore but Dak is an average at best qb. Brees is still a top 5 Qb. I saw last night that the Cowboys passing issues may be qb related and not as much wr related.

Bryant on the opposing teams #2 is a mismatch with Brees throwing to him. Some say Bryant has lost a step well Colston was never that fast, Thomas is not blazing and I think the most accurate qb ever will make Bryant shine.

I have a friend who is an nfl offensive coach. I reached out, he said Dez is known around the league as a “football junky” and that the Saint WR route tree is not all that complicated. Thinks it would be small learning curve for a guy like dez. Says timing would be biggest issue. Take it fwiw

I know we work out a lot of players every week just to keep things fresh and in case injuries happen. That’s likely all the coaching staff was doing by bringing in those guys.

Though I wish Payton would bring Dez on

This is the most surprising thing to me. I've heard that it is somewhat complicated and there are a lot of route trees that WRs are expected to adjust to just based on the look the defense is giving.

Guess that isn't the case. That would bode well for someone like Dez.

I think if people can reprogram in their minds the Dez name into Super Brandon Coleman they might be really pleased with this if it turns into a signing.

I think Dez can be everything that we wanted from Coleman and then some. If fans are still hanging onto images in their mind of the WR from 2012-2014 they will be thoroughly disappointed.

didnt we just put up almost 500 yds of offense on a Top 20 defense?
they were the number 8 defense at the time, just wanted to point out how ridiculous it is that you have top 20 as some type of benchmark in a 32 team league

I always assumed it was Complicated myself. I guess to us there’s a lot of moving parts as a whole but each position really only has limited responsibilities

If dez is indeed football smart that bodes well for him digesting what SP and Drew throw at him I reckon

Dez would be perfect in our system. Even when Ginn comes back his possession receiver quality would allow Thomas to move all over the field into mismatches. Dez still commands CB coverage and therefore puts either the Nickel on Kamara or a LB which he would abuse. Then when a LB gets subbed for DB we will just run it down the opposing teams throats.

It was a typo.

May be a stupid question, but what goes on at these workouts? Do they have him run a few routes? Is he covered? If so, by M Latt? Who's throwing to him? Drew? If not, is Drew watching the workout? Does he have say so?

I’m guessing some light fitness testing to make sure they’re at least in reasonable shape. Then probably some work against a practice squad guy with a coach throwing.
