The contract and the picks given up put them in a high risk high reward situation for 5 years.

Who is the last elite qb that got hurt for more than a year?

Was peyton manning out more than a year with that neck surgery?

You do know that the most ever guaranteed to a player before this was like 150 million.

230 million no way we do that

Yeah that’s what somebody was telling me. 230 million is the most absurd amount of money and full guaranteed too.

It’s easy to “outfox” someone when you guarantee someone $250 million.

More like Saints Brass were smarter than the desperate Browns

And Watson will be lucky to have $10 million left over after all his settlements….

I guess no one didn't just watch the rams win superbowl by making bold moves, that what it takes in this Era of football now,

False. A new stadium and and trying to revive a fanbase is what brought the Rams a SB win.

If making all those bold moves paid off, Philly would have won with the Dream Team and Jerry Jones would have won multiple times in the recent years. A SB trophy isn't awarded to the best team. It's given to the organization that the league determines deserves it most.

Outfoxed? Lmao the only team that got outfoxed is the Browns paying that dumbass contract. The fact teams were entertaining his demands after he just signed a huge deal last year was horseshite. Saints dodged a huge bullet, along with Atlanta and Carolina.

I wanted Watson as much as the next guy. Putting all my moral values on hold for this dude. Let’s be honest he looks like he got off or might be innocent but not likely. He will forever be under a microscope.
Anyone with a personal problem knows they don’t just go away. Guy has issues and 250 mil don’t make them go away. If anything it will get worst. One more issue and his career is over.
I’m glad we don’t have to worry bout that now, cause N.O. isn’t Utah if you no what I mean.

I'm talking about the Qb position dude not a dream team dude, when a top 5 qb 26 years old becomes available you have to go all out, because that don't happens normally, it was a reason she went on a second meeting with him because some people know the value of a top qb in his prime, just watch how this patchwork we deal with for years at this position. And if you're a Saints fan you know we don't draft well with qbs

I agree but breaking the bank never works out long term. We'd have a 2 year window and then what? The Browns aren't winning a SB with Watson, I can assure you.

The Saints still have a decent team. We will still compete to win the South and Brady coming back doesn't mean shite. Saints will have to suck to get a great QB in the draft and this team never does that. They go average and put themselves out of draft position for a top tier QB.

I'm not a fanatic anymore. I bet on the games. My favorite team is the one that covers the spread. I follow the Saints more than any other team but I don't cry or get pissed if they lose. I'll know alot more about these teams once the schedule rolls out.

My first instinct says bet against the Browns in week 1.

How is NOLA not a shithole, by any measurement?

As if anyone would be excited about the quality of life in that shithole.

OK. That's fine. Now go look at a team that traded for a QB and broke the bank on them, what kind of success did they have?
The 2021 Los Angeles Rams?

Yea, you think Cleveland is winning the SB? Rams only got there and won because of 2 things. Stadium and fan base.

Outfoxed by a franchise that had the first overall pick in 2017 and went with Baker Mayfield. So they passed on Watson and have now "outfoxed" everyone to give up 3 1st round draft picks a third and fourth plus a shitload of money to replace the guy they passed him up for. Cleveland did not outfox anyone here they just bet the house on him and may still end up being only the third best QB in that division.

I’m wondering how many games the NFL is going to suspend him.
