Guys, at some point we have start to put these pieces together.

Underhill has sources. I think he’s indirectly telling us what the Saints would like to do.

Russini is close to Payton. Why would she even make that tweet unsolicited, I don’t know.

I’d personally love to see what Payton could do with Jameis

If he can teach him that you don't "eat W's" and you don't win by throwing TDs to the other team, that would go a long way.

Same. He has top ten QB potential, just needs some guidance.

Wouldn’t mind it one bit.

I don't know if Winston is who they're looking at but I can guarantee they'll sign maybe one or possibly even two veterans to compete for backup spot. I doubt that Sean would gamble with only having Taysom Hill and whatever undrafted free agent they sign.

Shea Patterson could potentially go undrafted. He has the tools, he just never seemed to put everything together and his mechanics need some coaching. he would be a great backup to Hill to continue running RPO style offense.

Fromm is still available and would be great as a brees backup. I think he could certainly run the contained offense bridgewater ran last year, if necessary

Saw a tweet saying they have to wait to sign someone until after April 28 (maybe) or they'll lose their compensatory picks for next season.

Jameis is a mental midget and I would be pissed if we sign him. Can Newton would be another I’d hate to see come here.

I’ve said it in other threads but I’m intrigued by someone like Blake Bortles. Not as talented as Jameis surely but would cost less and has the tools I think

Remove all the W's from his soup to send him a subliminal message that instead of eating them you go out and win the game.

If you’d be pissed to have someone with Jameis’ talent as a backup QB you have a problem

Jameis would flourish in this system. Payton would make him an All-Pro

They've both been starting QBs in the NFL for a number of years. Would I want either as a starter, not really, but as a back up hell yes. They may act goofy in front of the camera but you don't hold on to a starting QB job in the NFL for as long as they did without putting in the work on the field and in the film room during the week.

Backup QBs/potential reclamation projects does not equal “disaster”

Once Brees is gone I'd happily take either as my starter until we have the next real successor.
