Drew might very well play out his contract this year.

The more I've been thinking about it, you don't trade away your most valuable assets and bring a bunch of young players if you're trying to win again with your QB on the tail end of his career.

if we go this route it makes drafting grayson in the 3rd look even more foolish.

Maybe, then again he could be a long time backup, or if he shows up in preseason, he could be trade bait for a QB needy team.

Saints did not need to pick a QB that year. This year they should pick one sone Brees has not signed a new contract. Saints can't afford Brees next year without a restructured contract. Drafting a Qb could give the Saints a little leverage with Brees. This could be chess move, not sure.

We traded him for a veteran Center and a 1st round pick. You don't trade away your most valuable asset for offensive line protection....

What about him? We fixed 2 holes with that valuable asset. It appears to have been a pretty good return on our part.

I would love Dak if he was to somehow fall to like the 4th round. I think he'll go way sooner though. Dallas has courted him hard.

You talking about Jimmy Graham trade? I mean he was valuable but drew shits offensive production for breakfast and we just replaced jimmy for much better value

We didn't trade away our most valuable asset just for offensive line help.

Also trading away Kenny Stills and Ben Grubbs allowed us to draft PJ Williams and Tyler Davison.

We invested a lot in the defense.

Lasted all of one season in KC. Good move by our FO. We could probably bring him back for the vet min if we wanted to (though he may not be healthy).

I agree with your point, but I think after their all-in-push-the-money-back-year-2014 didn't work, they knew they had to regroup and plan for the future, and knew that Drew might not be around, and it was near impossible they'd be able to get someone on his level, and they needed to start investing in the defense then.

If it was Wentz or Goff that would be reasonable but lynch is the only one of the 3 projected to go in the first and some mocks have him going late first. They might be just kicking the tires but I think they are atleast considering drafting a QB at some point.

The writing is on the wall for Grayson after the McCown extension IMO

Did they draft him already?
