Saints and LSU will never learn their lesson with field goals

Both have lost games recently from being greedy and not kicking their field goals. Nothing will change though. These coaches never learn.
If we kick the field goal in our second to last drive the Falcons would have had to score a touchdown to beat us at the end. Also, the Saints probably could have eaten up more clock on their last drive in that scenario and the Falcons might not have gotten a last drive anyway.
It’s so fricking infuriating that these coaches never learn to take the points no matter how many times it bites them in the arse.

leave LSU out this shite show

We were down 6 on our next to last drive. You might take the FG because you trust the defense. You go for it because there isn't a lot of time left.

The Falcons don't get the ball inside the 10 and it completely changes how their drive plays out. Assuming an immediate 3 and out if they got it at the 30 instead of the 7 is dumb. And even if they do go 3 and out we don't get it on the past midfield after their punt.

Exactly. How people don’t understand this always baffles me. The game would have played out totally differently if we kick the FG and kick off.

frick you. Get out of the thread if you don’t like it. This is an LSU fan website first and foremost, and you won’t stop people from discussing them along with the Saints at times.

The Saints have more time to score and run out the clock in this scenario. No final drive for the Falcons afterwards.

Saints Kick FG, Saints stop Falcons, Saints score TD, game over

Be better if we didn't throw the incompletion a little earlier. A run takes another 40 seconds off the clock and the Falcons don't have time to score.

Hey, you’re wrong for reasons that have already been well covered, hope this helps

No, Shaheed shouldn’t have made the biggest dumbass decision to try and catch a punt at the 2 yd line and hand the falcons the easiest TD possible in football or else the Saints would be in the win column this week.

Your hindsight is exemplary.

If we were inside the 2 I would go for it. We were on the 7. I think it was the wrong play.

Nah. Take the points is a basic concept of football that many modern coaches have abandoned because they feel pressured to make a splash and make it look like they’re trying hard to win. This all entertainment after all.
Unfortunately, they frick themselves over time and time again by getting greedy and not using fundamentals. You don’t go for the touchdown unless you know you have no chance of winning otherwise.

WHY OH WHY would one try to catch a punt well inside your own 10 yd. line ??????

I don't disagree with you but it's real easy to say in hindsight. I personally love the aggressiveness but also agree to take the points when the situation dictates it.

End of thread.

cbree is a simpleton. He's only capable of seeing things playing out in a linear fashion. We hold them to 3 downs, get the ball and go down and score a td.
It's more likely that the Saints kick the fg, Falcons get the ball on the 25 and then hold the ball the rest of the game... we never see the ball again. After Demario and Gay and Mathieu went down, when the falcons started at the 20 or 25, we never stopped them. not once. But they WERE gonna stop them that time right? Doofus.
