The Saints have gone 45 straight games without allowing a 100+ yard rusher, the longest active streak in the NFL.

Aaron Jones is coming off of a career-high 168 rushing yards and has 23 TD since the start of 2019.

Strength on strength tonight.

I think it was more of Detroit’s defense just being that bad last week.

True but Jones has played very well since the start of last year in general.

We almost gave up 100 to Jacobs last week. We need to be on our Ps and Qs tonight.

TBH... Jacobs would've gotten 100 last week if he hadn't gotten hurt

Quite possible. We gave up that huge run to Ricard near the end.

Update: the streak continues!

Because why run the ball when you can throw it up and count on a DPI call?

The Lions could/should be in favorable game script for it, playing from the lead and not having to abandon the run game...even using the run game to run the clock to victory. If that ends up being the case, Peterson could definitely see 20+ carries.

thing is they may let 3 RB's get carries tomorrow.

AP, Kerryon Johnson, and Swift.

if that happens i doubt any of them will break a 100 unless there is some big runs ripped off.

for big gainers.

finally saw a pass get tipped at line of scrimmage the other night vs Packers

i think the last time we played the Lions Stafford had a few batted down.

that'd be cool to even just get one tomorrow. shite.

do something.

We def didn’t almost give up 100 yards to Jacobs. The raiders ran the ball for about 3.2 yard per carry lol. The guy ran the ball 27 times and also had 3 catches. Yes, if teams are going to run the same guy over 30 times I’m sure any defense is going to give up 100 yards to that back. 30 touches is a ton of touches to one player. Why do some of you just make stuff up?

Seemed worse than it was cause that one brutal TD run, and they seemed to be in 3rd and short very frequently.

For sure. Was really the only run we gave up that was respectable.

He had 3 runs over 10 yards which all came within the last 17 minutes, so yeah if he popped off 2 more like that he would have hit 100. Not to mention the 20 yarder we gave up to Richard.

The defense was starting to lose their discipline at the end, and yes if they kept feeding him he would have hit 100.

Yes, like i mentioned, if he got over 30 carries he probably does it. 27 carries and not even eclipsing 90 yards isn’t good. It wasn’t because he got hurt. Our run defense is legit nasty no matter what the bafoons on this board say. They aren’t giving Jacobs more than 30 touches a game. No matter how anyone tries to spin it the saints run defense is probably one of if not the best in the league the last 3 years. The secondary is a different question. But the drama queens on this board will freak out over some losses and legit start making stuff up. 27 carries for 88 yards. Lol.

First, no one said 80 something yards on 27 carries was good.

Second, this post was about us not allowing 100 yards to any rusher in 45 games. So him being 2-5 carries away bears mentioning because he was close.

And lastly I'm not a drama queen that made anything up, nor did I complain about the loses. What I stated was simply facts. He was close, but we kept the streak intact, and then were on our ps and qs in the next game.
