So you won’t know exactly what you have with him until next year. Problem is, if we suck this year and pick high, do you want to pass up a top tier qb prospect to give Shough a fair shot next year? If so we just blew a top 40 pick that could be starting somewhere else.
The poster who said you draft a qb until you have one. That’s asinine. And you become the Cleveland Browns.

And all of those guys, except for Brady, were All Americans in college. And Brady won the Super Bowl in year 2.
So just imagine what the learning curve might be for the 5th-6th best QB in the ACC?
And that QB is 25 abd has had season ending injuries the last three seasons?

How many of those rookies were 26 when the season got started?
It’s why it was asinine to draft him so early. Been sayin this since he was drafted.

Imagine going straight to Peyton, Brady, Elway, Marino to find common ground
They were all pros, mvp caliber QBs and on the precipice of winnings multiple SBs by age 26

If a rookie flashes elite talent, it almost doesn't matter what the ultimate performance is.
Rattler last year really didn't get anything going. That's not necessarily the end of his story, but there was not much from last year that would indicate success moving forward. That's yet to come...or won't come at all.
But you could say the same thing about Shough's entire college career.

But if we're being honest, Shough is probably a 3rd or later guy that got bumped up by a bad qb draft.
Exactly this. The Saints are going to draft a QB every year until they find their guy. The 2025 QB class was really bad and all of them were overdrafted.

Don't disagree, but that didn't really address my point.

even more reason, as many of us have said, to avoid drafting that position, at all...
