Who the hell made the decision to draft him in the 4th round?

Damn with the 4th round pick and damn with the practice squad moves. Lot of moves at once.

We make these moves before practice depending on who is healthy and what positions we need to have two full squads on both sides of the ball.
Some more changes will be made late Friday/early Saturday as usually.
But for Tate, he's likely cut cut.
Edit:
Based on Leonard being cut and us signing a guard, I'm guessing they are resting Peat this week for practice and needed an extra guard.

dont care about the other draft pick cut, but that pick in the 4th rd sound make the team. They got cute thinking they had a future jimmy graham type situation, just at OT

Yep and it was absolutely panned by draft experts as well. Just a weird pick.

Agreed. Projects in 5-7th I can understand. 4th should be guys who can contribute on ST or at least end of roster.

I d9nt get the jimmy graham correlation.
Do u mean cause he switched from defense to offense?
They probably just liked his size and athleticism and like someone just said he will be back on the practice squad.

He looked great out there on the field during preseason. Saints must really not like his personality or something to continue to risk him, because the guy can play. It was a headscratching pick on draft day, but he proved he was worth a 4th during the preseason.

Everybody felt it was a ridiculous pick at the time!

Dude was on his couch with like 5 people at his house. I remember it vividly. Had the look of maybe I’ll get picked, maybe I’ll join the family business.
