Rewatched the 2 point play

It was really well defended by the Lions. Hat tip.
We have Olave motion in, then jet motion back out. Goal is to hit Chris in the flat and he beats the defender to the pylon. Might have had it immediately, but 2 Lions defenders are crashing hard.
They have 3 defenders for 2 receivers. The middle defender is well placed to take Olave in the flat or Vele. Good coaching, good execution.
Only possible throw is Etienne on the back side but you’re talking about your 5th read and Hutchinson is crashing in hard. It’s a dead play.

No
The fade was open, shough was late to throw it.
That's a tough throw but thats the design.
Edit: not saying the play design was specifically for that throw, but thats the route concept.

The design was definitely not a fade to Bryce Lance

My god you're stupid. Shough wasn't late, that was his 3rd read. Olave, THE NUMBER 1 WR, was the first read followed by Vele like the OP pointed out.

Yeah, I agree it was the corner fade. It was covered pretty well but Shough hesitated. If he just throws a strike and trusts it, it might get there before the defender can turn his head around. Moore definitely thought he would get more separation cause even if Shough played it perfect that’s a hard catch for a rookie.

You're just as dumb as the what guy. You think with the game on the line, Moore is going to his rookie WR instead of Olave or Vele.

We know what you don’t know. That play was not drawn up for Lance.

I rewatched it and you are correct. Shough was definitely looking at Olave primarily and then may have pumped it Vele’s way. Lance was the only one who had a chance on that play. Lions played it well.

Why does it look like the RB at the bottom was coming open
Posted on 9/13/26 at 7:31 pm to ShoughTFU
You had a guy ready to pounce if shough turned his head

He was open. You can call it a post if that makes you feel better. But it was open.
If the defenders back is facing the qb, its open.

Lance was open when Shough first pumped but the OL brushed against him and felt the pressure when it was actually a clean pocket. If he steps in and throws a strike at Lance’s head, I think we win. Would like a better look than that for the game though.

Yeah, fact is that Lions guessed right and end of story.
2pt plays are always designed quick plays, not “step back and let the QB go through his progressions.”
Lions guessed right and that’s why it looked bad from the start.
Is what it is.

Vele was the decoy. He stops in tbe middle of the shite to draw defenders so lance is open 1 on 1.
Which he was.

I never said it was.
He was open initially. The throw got to him too late. Why are people butthurt about very obvious things lol

Yeah, I’m not sure what the name calling is all about. For all we know, Shough was staring at Olave to try to pull the defender off of Lance. Shough went to Lance on 4th and 12 with the game on the line and got a 15 yard completion. It’s not improbable that Moore thought he could get Lance open in the corner by using Olave and Vele as underneath decoys.

44 is following Juwan Johnson, and Juwan ends up blocking the other guy Campbell, who fell to the ground. Etienne wasnt a read but he couldve moonwalked in
Perhaps that play design should be to pump to the top of the play where all the traffic is and look back, youd have etienne and Juwan 1 on 1 with LBs

If tweet fails to load, click here. Vele appears to be the first read on this play fwiw

You seriously are the dumbest poster on this site. You say vele is the decoy, which is isnt, to open up a rookie wr??? Think about that. Option was olave, vele, rookie. I guess you play madden and think you know how to call plays.
Posted on 9/13/26 at 7:44 pm to spaghettioeauxs
The play was to Olave in the flat and it was covered. No one else was a real option and when Hutchinson blew up the line there wasn’t really time to try anything else.
Trying to pin this on Shough is so transparent
