Reversal of “bountygate” draft picks

At the very least in addition to a BS “apology” by goodell, we should be refunded and 1st round or 2 2’s after what the NFL did to us on Sunday and in 2011-2012. Just nonstop fricking. Commissioner still SILENT after almost 72 hours. What a joke. Compensatory draft picks is a real tangible thing that we should be pushing for IMO. I haven’t heard this being brought up. Thoughts?

That's been brought up 1000 times already, if we dont walk away with a first round pick we are so fricked...

Folks, just stop it. The NFL hates Sean Payton's Saints and is working very hard to make sure that this guy never gets to another SB.
Everything that the league has done to the Saints since SB44 is completely unprecedented: losing the two 2nd round draft picks and suspending the HC for a year and The No-Call.
This has become a pattern of actions to hurt the Saints.
Don't worry about any other team stealing Payton away -- I think that the Owners all realize that Payton is hated by Goodell.
As long as Roger Goodell is Commish and Payton is a Saint, the Saints are not going to the SB again. Period.

Just stop. The nfl didnt stop us from being in the super bowl. A bad ref did. Btw if Bress hits the first down pass we’re in. If we weren’t outgained on offense 378-290 were in.

Organizations can be held accountable by actions of its employees. Just my two cents.

The ref is employed by the NFL therefore it was the NFL decision to not make that call. Vinovich flat out lied and said he didn't see the play. How much more evidence do you need?
The Rams own every stat in the SB vs the Pats in 2001 and lost. The stats mean nothing. The amount of penalties mean nothing. It's all about the timing of the penalties and non calls that effect the game but most don't see that.
They look at the stat sheet and see one team was penalized more, and yet the other team got robbed by the refs. It's a sham.
The NFL has $5 billion invested in L.A. and you think the Saints lost this? You are pathetic.

This.
It's the same with the argument about Alabama's officiating bias.
Fans of those teams point to the number of penalties as evidence that there's no bias. What they don't tell you is how many of those penalties converted big third downs and kept drive alives to put points on the board. Or took away possessions from the other team.
It's all about the timing and situation when the penalty is called.
You think officials are stupid? You think they're just going to load up one team with all the penalties? You don't think they know that's going to show up on the stat line and look obvious?
If somebody wanted to do the research they could go back and look at all the penalties that gave the favored teams a new set of downs, a possession on a take-away, took a possession on a take away, away from their opponents or overturned a third down conversion for their opponents. Also would have to invest a shitload of time looking at every player on every play to find the no calls for the favored teams. No calls are a big one.
That would be very interesting and eye-opening research.

Thoughts?
Goodell is silent because criminals who are smart don't say anything to media or authorities, particularly when under scrutiny.
This is a lot worse and goes a lot deeper than a ref making a bad call on the filed. That's what I take from the silence anyway.

If the NFL would award the Saints a draft pick its still no guarantee that the player wouldn't be a bust. Only a cash compensation would elevate the damage done on Sunday. Refund the superdome for all expenses, all vendors compensated and the city for hosting the game and cleanup and pay the saints player salaries and potential earning if they would have made the super bowl plus designate New Orleans as the host city of back to back super bowls. A public televised apology for the poor officiating.

I legit think there's a real possibility Goodell doesn't survive this scandal (figuratively speaking).
If Saints fans can come up with a catchy name for the scandal and be relentless is our pursuit of justice, this could get so bad that Goodell is fired.
Imagine what would come out if a real investigation into the NFL and its practices were to be conducted!
Take into account that they were gifted an antitrust exemption in order to create the monopoly that inevitably led to the current state of affairs (gross injustice with zero accountability), and yeah, I think it's definitely possible that there could be a real investigation and that Goodell could he fired over this (and whatever else comes out) as a result.
That's my hope anyway. This is the loudest silence I've ever witnessed.

quote:Nah.
1st round or 2 2’s
How about 2 first rounders, one top 5 and one from the Rams' slot. And then two 2nd rounders, same formula. That would begin to ease the pain, but still wouldn't even come close to reparation for the great injustice witnessed in the NFCCG.
Not to mention, it would be a little piss in the Rams' beer mug after Brady mops the floor with them in the SB.

They have a website that may provide some insight to this:
NFL 1st Down by Penalty Data
Not sure how credible/accurate it is but it’s something.
Edit: Saints are the #1 team that have given up the most first downs by penalty with 38, which is not surpising.
#2 is Kansas City with 35 and the #3 is at 30.

very interesting site
Saints are 2nd in per game against category - 1st overall due to the extra games as well as per play against category.
New England is 2nd and 3rd in per game and per play beneficiary categories.
Doesnt' do a lot to support the "NFL is protecting the Rams" conspiracy as they are middling in terms of all the beneficiary stats.
ETA: New Orleans is also last in the per game / per play beneficiary stat.
