His catch % went down in 2nd year as did his success %. But he is young and was picked in the top 50.

Tends to happen when you add one of the most prolific receiving tes in history.

Read again. This isn't bulk catch numbers but the quality of his own receptions.

He would be an upgrade, but like someone said, already through some of his rookie deal so not sure what i would give up for him.

Deep draft for TEs this year.

I don't see ANYONE paying good money for a TE with questionable receiving skills that goes down at FIRST contact ! He may be a skillful blocker but a VERY average possession receiver !

He was never properly utilized his rookie season by the Raiders, and then got relegated because of Bowers. He was an absolute stud at ND, and was the center piece of the passing game. He reminds me a lot of Gronk in that he is above average in blocking and receiving.

Would be a hell of a trade to get him.

I’d trade Olave for him tbh

Not a bad idea. I like Olave but his concussion issues will shorten his career and he is about to want to get paid. Mayer you get 2 more season before you have to pay him. Then you cut foster and it cost you nothing against the cap this year. Saves you 4.6 million instantly.

alontae could be another trade candidate to ponder if we aren't long term with him.
