Depends somewhat how he does this year and if he stays completely healthy. That’s a big factor.

But these two contracts should be about where he’s headed. Jameson Williams was drafted around the same spot and numbers were about the same. I’d look more towards that deal if I’m the saints. But health is going to be an issue for him.

That's closer to reality. My guess is around 25 per.
His issue is going to be getting a large chunk guaranteed.

Site hates him but he’s one of the best young receivers in the NFL. Have to always point to whatever people think of Wilson in ny, olave has better numbers on every metric and less opportunities.

Hate it all you want he can play

Now the Steelers are the team rumored to be interested in Brandon Cooks for a 5th.

They better trade cooks. I'd love a 5th. That was such a bad signing.

I could see the olave trade being a 3rd. Maybe you squeeze out another late pick.

And will be do a huge contract with substantial concussion concerns. He needs to be traded so that we do not commit a huge contract to a good, not great, WR.

Right. It's more about what contract he will want and his injuries. He gets no yac. He has been a 10 yard and fall guy the last yr plus.

I do get why people would be pissed the saints can only get a 3rd when they gave up basically the last pic in the 3rd for vele. Yes it's a 4th but will be super high.

I know its not all his fault but olave is averaging 7.4 yards a reception this yr. He goes straight down or for the sideline. This offense has been extremely underneath this yr with rattler.

idk about that, I like Garrett Wilson but he and Olave run into the same issues with size and YAC

Wilson is still much better than olave and always plays. He plays hard.

Olave sees himself as a top receiver and will want at least 30 mil.

Dude, Olave literally is a concussion away from being out of the league.

And, his play has started to suffer. Contrary to popular opinion, Olave was starting to look like a legit #1 a couple of concussions ago. He's not playing at that level now.

Have yall watched Olave other than his rookie year?

He has little to no value to another team. Forget salaries, on a good team, I am not sure he is even a #2 WR.

He’s low tier #2 with serious injury history and questionable desire to play ball. A 5th and maybe a future 6th is about what we could get.

we aren't trading olave. we aren't benching rattler. go cry in a corner

Agree. Trading away our best receiving asset would be folly. We need more NFL quality receivers, not less. Should pimp receivers in early rounds in the 2026 draft to give our QB more weapons, not less.

People don't want to overpay olave. He's not a true #1 and the fear is to double down in lack of talent and mistakes - we might do it out of necessity

This ignores his concussion issues and upcoming contract. Olave is trending down, not up. Keeping him is shortsighted IMO.

Also I would argue Shaheed is on par if not the better player, though underutilized in this offense without a true WR1.

It's not about his play. He's a good receiver worth having on any team.
It's about the huge price to keep him. Once in his last year he will wait till he's a FA and get the bidding going. I like Olave but don't think we win a bidding war for him. So I'm on board with exploring a trade before that happens.

Keeping him would be a serious mistep by Loomis.

Where is he going and what's the compensation?

Do yall believe other teams don't see the same replays that we see? No one is coming with a 1st round pick for Olave. If you are good with a 3rd round pick, then a team will jump on that.
