Let’s say all the conventional targets we’ve discussed are gone and we haven’t traded up…how do you feel about OT at 29?
Broderick Jones UGA and Anton Harrison OU are 2 guys I’ve recently seen in the ballpark. It would fit the Saints BPA approach and it brings in a clear successor to Ram.
Regarding Ram, I think his days in New Orleans are over after the 2025 season. He has an $8MM dead cap hit, he’ll be 32, and, imo, his play has begun to slip.

You're looking 3 seasons ahead? A lineman like Ram could play until he's 35 and maintain his performance.
The man had 4 penalties and 3 sacks allowed in 936 snaps. What are you watching, exactly?

we're drafting a Right Tackle replacment in rd 1 preparing for 3-4 full years away?

I think his play has slipped due to injury. He’s been on load management at practice for like 2 years now. He was among the elite of the elite, I don’t think he is anymore. He’s had a ton of nagging injuries.
His dead cap hit after 2024 is $18MM, which could be palatable depending on the new tv deal cap.
I’m not advocating for pushing him out, it’s just an idea about the future.

There isn’t a sure fire franchise LT in this draft that I can see but plenty of guys that can play RT. Ramcyzk has a chronic knee issue that he will have for the rest of his career but I still don’t think we should waste either of our top 2 picks in anything but DL. We need at least 2 more DT and one more DE would be nice too. Find Ramcyzk’s replacement next year maybe depending on how he plays.

People will hate it but they will get good OL value at that spot. A guy like Darnell weight or OCyrus Torrence or Cody mauch
Darnell Washington would provide stability as well

If we don't draft any defensive linemen in the first couple of rounds, DT's more specifically, I'll be pissed

It would be okay if it's OG.
Peat and Ruiz should be gone soon enough, Penning if healthy can fit in at either LT/LG.
That's still missing 2 starters/value
