He got this team to .500 last year when he started with no receivers and Dennis Allen as the coach. That’s quite a feat.
I woulda liked to see Carr with Sean Payton, but I knew he’d fail with Allen.
Thats a good point. We saw how bad he was when McCoy got injured. Your right about you see a different Carr with Sean Peyton. Car just needed a Deep STABLE of WRS for those hosiptal Balls he threw.
2024 (Pending): 5-12-0 (4th NFC South)
2023: 9-8-0 (2nd NFC South)
2022: 7-10-0 (3rd NFC South)

Derek Carr signed a four-year, $150 million contract with the New Orleans Saints in March 2023, featuring $100 million in total guarantees.
Yes you are right, Derek Carr gave the Saints 2 More Wins.
Than the Previous Season With Andy Dalton.
Derek Car did have that Kubaik Offensive Coordinator, But the O-Line Injuries really caught the team with their pants down.
Seems like a recouring, theme here though. O-Line Injuries.
O-Line Injuries.
O-Line Injuries.

One of my least favorite Saints of all time.

The cart brothers are the reverse mannings.

If Carr nets us a 3rd in a trade to the Jets, I will take back every bad thing I have ever said about him.

Carr was saddled with horrible defenses while in Oakland. He darned near turned Hunter Renfrow into Michael Thomas in 2021 though on route to making the playoffs.

I listened to their new pod.
If he comes back he wants to play for a contender and the brother specifically mentioned the Vikings. I don’t think he goes to the Jets
Also said he told 2 teams no already

You can forget him going to the jets lol

Carr is an improvement to the QB situation right now for the Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets, Steelers (possibly), Browns, Indy (if Jones doesn't resign), Falcons (if Penix isn't wanted), Raiders, and Vikings. Not saying any of them want him, but he is a guy that you can at least win half of your games with.

Indy and Vikes. I think the Vikings though. They won 9 games with a crap qb. Weapons and a good defense

That would be a really smart move on his part. McCarthy didn’t look so good. Vikings have weapons at receiver. A Sam Darnold type revival could lead to a big pay day for him after this year. The Vikings have a good offensive coach.

Ditto. Ain’t no one here on TD would’ve walked away from 30 million. Thanks Derek.

Agree. It didn't work out here and he walked away gracefully in a team friendly way. Waaaay too much hate from our fan base.

I'm just not buying Carr coming in and putting any team over the top seriously.
First of all, he's coming off a significant shoulder injury
And He's in his mid-thirties.
He kept getting hurt while he was playing with the Saints. Not even two full seasons and he dealt with injury problems in both
I also think he knew that the Saints were looking at quarterback's real real hard coming into last year's draft and I think it hurt his feelings a lot like the Raiders hurt his feelings when they decided to move on from him.
So I think there was a gentleman's agreement with him and the Saints. I'm glad that he left all that money on the table. That's real noble of him, considering how rich he already is. But good for the Saints and good for him I guess.
And I get it. He was hurt but you know if you're a real competitor, you don't want some younger guy coming in and taking your job. You'll do everything you can to come back in and bust your arse and make him take that position from you. That would be my concern if I was interested in signing him
Like how bad does this guy really want it?

I read somewhere

I saw where Shough was up on a float having fun and throwing to the crowd.
And we never saw Carr do anything at all like that while he was with the Saints.
We've seen Brees and Jameis both out there during Mardi Gras being a part of the fun.
I don't think Carr has earned that kind of a right to choose a contender, but it doesn't matter what I think.
But since Sam Darnold just won a Super Bowl, all of a sudden, the narrative starts to change. I think this past season was an outlier. That's not a bad thing because each season surely isn't the same. But just the narrative that maybe you don't have to have the best of the best at QB, that talk will ramp up during the offseason I imagine.

There were several posters on here that said signing Darnold to that contract woukd kill any chance they had at a superbowl and look what happened less than a year later.
Carr in the right situation is probably better than Darnold.

Dude played for the Dennis Allen era raiders and the Dennis Allen era saints. If I’m him, I’m being very picky on my next job.

Darnold also went 13-3 with the Vikings albeit in an early exit in the playoffs.
When did Carr ever do that ?

That's probably a reach.
I guess you forgot this pissant Carr paid homage to Allen after he was fired,
Carr is wishy-washy
He can be a pretty good passer if he's left unscathed but once he gets rattled it's over with
I just don't see him being able to pull a team over the top. But that's just me I guess.
