Drew Brees was 4x All Pro and played in 13 Pro Bowls. I always thought you were All Pro if you made a Pro Bowl.

Explain this to me.

Thanks

The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest voted on by coaches players and fans. Fans get to vote as much as they want. All-Pro is voted on by sports writers and broadcasters.

All pro means you are the best at your position. Voted on by the players.
Probowl is a popularity contest and a game.
Pro bowl you have to be top at your position to fill at team in each conference. Then you once the superbowl players, injured and players who decline then you start to get people like Mac Jones

Playing in the Pro Bowl which I think is permanently cancelled is a fricking joke. That’s all you need to know.

And why it matters….

Ryan Ramczyk = 3x All Pro & no Pro Bowls
Andrus Peat = 3x Pro Bowler & no All Pro teams

Its like making the All Star game vs being voted All NBA. All Star is cool and all....but being All NBA just means more.

And as much shite as the sports media get many of them probably pay attention to a wider range of players than fans or even coaches or players.

Fans are obviously biased and blind many times but people assume players and coaches are spot on but they’re not really either. Example McCaffrey was the top fan vote getter at RB but didn’t make it because of the players/coaches. Also another example is the NFL 100 lists every year that’s also voted on by the players and coaches. A lot of them are probably biased towards their friends or favorite players. A lot of them pay attention to players they’re going up against not league wide
