The saints posted a video of his 38 yard TD against the Vikings and it had me reminiscing.

Is there another RB out there with a better feel for Screen Passes than Pierre Thomas? They were things of beauty. They were textbook. They reminded you why the play existed.

What a reliable chain-mover! When you needed a first, that dude would produce one on a screen and sometimes a breakaway TD. Great Saint and one of the best glue guys a team could have.

Imagine if he would've had Reggie Bush's speed. He would've been a league-wide star.

Only one who was possibly better was Thurman Thomas. Pierre was a master of the screen pass.

We, of course, remember his great SB/playoff screen TDs, but does anybody else remember that screen against Chicago?

The Saints were backed up to some ungodly 3rd & 25 or something, and PT somehow got the 1st by a yard. That was truly amazing. (That was the same game Brees drew the dumbass Bears offsides multiple times with his hard count on 4th own, with the last one sealing the win, iirc.)

I hate that Payton didn't value Pierre. It's like he's an afterthought now, but he was incredible and a chain mover.

Screen pass to PT was guaranteed to be a 20-30 yd gain every time.

Use to say the fans sounded stupid as hell when they’d say that back then.

But shite I miss Pierre there’s definitely no RB that ran a screen like Pierre.

I miss Pierre. Very underrated RB and made huge plays for us throughout his career...

I wish he would've been given a chance to be a primary back. When you go back and look at his stats, he always averaged around 4.5-5.0 yards per carry when healthy and the other backs struggled to average 4.0. He was underrated all around.

Huh? He kept him as an UDFA over a 4th round pick, and made him a frick ton of money. What a random load of bullshite to make up.

The loss of PT on the first drive of the SF playoff game cost the saints a second SB win.

His 100/100 against his hometown team was impressive. Great game and awesome performance for him that day.

Bruh I didn't make shite up. Why do you think Payton drafted Mark Ingram in 2011? In his mind, he never valued Pierre as his every down back and his career didn't last as long as it should have.

So he was never an every down back but had a short career. Wouldn’t that insinuate he wasn’t able to carry the load of an every down back?

While I agree, I always wanted to see PT get a bigger workload, CSP has always had a two back system.

We have one of the best backs in the league right now and AK has never had the full load until this past year and that was mostly due to injuries and having nobody else.
