PFT: Packers considering cutting Jimmy Graham

Quick and easy solution to adding another weapon, or has that ship sailed?

There’s talk in Green Bay that Graham could be cut this year. That’s what Pete Dougherty, Packers columnist for the Green Bay Press-Gazette, thinks is going to happen. Although Dougherty makes clear he is guessing that Graham will get cut, not reporting it, he’s a longtime team observer who’s well-positioned to make educated guesses.
And cutting Graham would make sense: He was disappointing in his first year as a Packer, even admitting himself in December that he hadn’t done much to help the team win. Graham is due a $5.3 million roster bonus on March 15, so it’s easy to envision the Packers cutting him before then.
If the Packers do cut Graham, they’ll save $5.3 million on their salary cap but he’ll still carry a $7.3 million dead cap charge. If the Packers think it’s time to build their new offense around new players, that $5.3 million in savings may better be spent elsewhere.

Can he still play? Can we get him cheap? If yes on both then yes.

Why was he not more productive there?

Because he wasn’t being coach by Sean Payton and he didn’t have Drew Brees throwing him the ball.
Graham is a system player and he fits this system

Because Rodgers doesn’t use the TE much. Would rather play hero ball and throw the deep outs.

This is why you don’t burn bridges when you’re leaving any organization. That stupid c*cksucker had to open his mouth after he left the Saints because they wouldn’t pay him top wide receiver money. Now, we all know why.
We can all learn a lesson from this idiot. When you leave any employer, just keep your mouth shut and say the right things no matter your delicate "feelings."

Add...
1. Graham
2. Adam Humphries
3. Best olineman we can afford
Let Ingram walk and draft a 3-4 round power back

And damage team chemistry. No thanks.

Team chemistry was fine the first 4 weeks without him, if I recall correctly.

You gotta understand how Rodgers plays.
If a player has a good matchup, but doesn't get the separation he won't take the risk on a 50/50 ball where he has to fit it into a very small window.
He buys them time by scrambling and allowing his receivers to get open. Just so happens davante Adams can do that better.

YPC was down for 3rd straight year this season. If he comes cheap, absolutely. No way I pay him big money though.

No
He’s old, always hurt, slow and can’t catch.

It all comes down to value. If we can get him cheap, we should. If he doesn't come cheap, pass. Jared cook and irv Smith (no way he falls to late 2nd round) are the ones I really covet.

Am I the only one who remembers Playoff Soft As Butter Jimmy? The dude who talks shite pre-game but melts like a Bitch in-game when it matters?
Why would we want him back? SMH.

You want him because it makes a linebacker have to honor his seam attack and one less obstacle in front of Alvin Kamara.
Basic football....

We did try to sign him last off season, so, I'm not sure he burned bridges with us.

we can get a much cheaper TE in this draft

He’ll be pretty cheap. I’d be very surprised if graham gets cut that he’s not a saint next season.
