Dexter McCluster anyone?!?!?...OR Dri Archer or De'Anthony Thomas.

I wonder if we plan to use the cap space we freed today (and probably the rest we will free in the next few days) to resign Strief/DLP/MJ or if it's for FAs. I'm interested in McCluster.

Moore and Sproles saves the team 6 million dollars and evidently there were no teams offering trades. PT could save them another 3 mil which would suck because he is one of my favorites. Hope he stays but it not it looks like they will roll with Ingram Robinson and Cadet. Cadet may prove to be another quick pass catcher out of the back field and hopefully Ingram can continue that strong running he embodied at the end of last season sans fumbles.

Choosing between PT and Sproles is a no-brainer imo. They definitely made the right call.

Rapoport is usually legit, but this contradicts the earlier report that Sproles wasn't being touched.
This is the season of the smokescreen.

Something is up. And I don't think it has anything to do with Graham.

PT is not guaranteed to be back either.

called us cutting sproles over pierre. makes way more sense.
i really hope this is true. would be a shame we cut all our weapons just to blow our load on Graham

The offense was showing signs of age despite what the final offensive numbers & rankings showed. Numbers do lie sometimes. This offense was having it's issues against press coverage. Some of the skill players looked slow at times. They were horrible on 3rd down & in the redzone on the road. Something had to be done.
Next year defense will rule the NFC South & NFC as a whole. The offense desperately needs play makers who can physically win individual matchups.

Not that we won't also cut PT, but anyone who would choose Sproles over PT isn't looking at the whole picture.
Sproles is basically one dimensional now, will be 31 before the season, and saves more money.
PT just came off his best season ever.

Doesn't $6M equal McCluster?

Florio saying that we're still trying to trade him.

This will be hard to do now with the rumors of him being cut coming out. Why trade for him when you could possibly just sign him as a free agent later?

same reason why KC traded for alex smith. No competition to get him.
If ATL was smart, they'd trade for him.

A team may think he's worth the 7th rounder for a one year rental at $3.5m and would rather not risk his going elsewhere.

They could do better than a 7th
