What about the face mask they missed on the rams drive????
What about the hands to the face on the Brees int? Exact same as what Davenport was flagged for last week.

The "facemask" on 2nd & goal was an open hand and incidental contact. No grasp/pull/control of the facemask. This used to be a 5yd penalty, but incidental FM is no longer a foul

The biggest problem with all of this is absolutely nothing will happen about it. It was the most blatant "we're not letting you win the game right now even though, by the play on the field and the rules of the game, you did" no call I've ever seen. There's no defending it, there's no "well we don't understand it completely" like the tuck rule that usually referenced, there's no one that sees this play and says "huh, maybe it was close" or "maybe the official thought he saw x".
And no one in the league is allowed to call the spade a crooked spade or THEY are fined and disciplined. And it's a wonder why officiating has seemed even worse this year with regards to helping out certain teams or influencing outcomes, or even just keeping games close? I think the NFL saw the way the NBA does this shite every game to keep games close and keep viewership and that even a ref coming out and being busted for directly influencing games didn't change a damn thing made them realize they can do it too.
I said it weeks ago, officiating didn't get worse from last year in the sense of making bad calls. They are just shite at hiding the bias in their calls now as they do it more often. Culminating in what may be the worst call that 100% directly influenced which team plays in the super bowl with under 2 minutes to go. And all that will happen is a "aww, we're sorry" and everyone will forget about it outside of the oh man do you remember that call? Yeah kind of.
It'll never change, or get better, because the NFL gets what it wants and no one is held accountable/cares.

just keeping games close
This. I noticed it all season. As soon as a team got a lead, they couldn't get a call leading to all those "comebacks" and "exciting finishes" that kept the viewers glued to the TV and the fourth quarter ad revenue pouring in. It got to where you only had to watch the last two minutes of the game to see who won, just like basketball.

Exactly! The NFL picks the networks and makes sure there is no criticism of their "product." Announcers hardly ever criticize a ref and they won't replay most controversial calls. They are trying to hide their rigged product and hope the average fan doesn't notice or care! And the coaches and players are league "employees!" It's all a sham!
The NFL has had their thumb on the scales all season long. Today we just got photographic proof!

I think the league should let the same crew call the super bowl. I would watch that just to see who the league really wants to win.

Woo hoo for moral victories.

What does the NFL have to gain by admitting this? They’re corrupt as frick and biased against the saints.
