Pretty clear that the Saints are using future pick swaps to take flyers on players because they need to do things like that, and they know they’ll be acquiring extra picks going forward in various ways.

Agreed.

At least you would be a bit smarter.

Classic saints move, trading more picks for a bench warmer

Just because one team that doesn't know how to scout receivers spent pick 37 on this guy, doesn't mean giving up a 6th for him is a good idea.

I will say this, the Saints really love their underperforming 2nd round busts. Usually they draft them. Now they are trading for them.

This is how the trade went down…

Patriots Coaching Staff: “Hey, what team is stupid enough to trade for a shitty, hurt WR?”

Patriots GM: “The Saints!”

Later that day…

Patriots GM: “Hey, Mickey Loomis, would you like…”

Loomis: “DEAL!”

Patriots GM: “At least wait until we make you a shitty offer before accepting, you dumbass!”

If this dude has one season for us with 500 yds and 4 TDs, it's a win. And I'm not sure we'll get that.
Shiiiiiittt Olave would be lucky to get those stats as a number 1 with Rattler at quarterback

Make an argument for Polk beyond blind optimism that he was a 2nd round pick.
He played one season as a rookie with the worst head coach in football and an OC who's working as an analyst now, and was probably out of position as an X receiver. Lets put him in the slot with some decent coaching, maybe we get something. If he turns out to be a camp body so what.

Your 'loomis' take is asinine.
He does not hire a coach who has no control over who is on his frikken team. Sorry if you really think that is what is going on.

Ask dudes here how good I am at FF, and you'll hear mixed results ... However, I never pretend to be an NFL GM... but we know, you know... terrible dude.

Fantasy football is nothing even remotely close to the actual building an nfl team. Hiring a coach, fa decisions, draft pick decisions, etc…

I’ve pointed out the numerous mistakes over the years Loomis has made. I can’t help that I’d say 90% of them turned out correct. I’ve also bumped enough threads to prove my point.

That’s kind of how I feel. If he becomes TreQuan Smith it’s a steal. If he gets cut, no big deal. It’s obvious that Moore knows we need better WRs and is turning over every stone to develop and find one. That’s fine with me.

The Patriots have seen this dude in practice every day for the past few years, really don’t have many great options at WR, didn’t even have him taking up a roster spot due to him being on IR, and yet still traded him for the most minimum return a trade can yield. All this to say, this brotha SUCKS.

Especially with all those great quarterbacks throwing to him. Hard to imagine he didn't excel.

Sarcasm of course

It's not a big cost but he was probably going to get cut by the Pats in training camp next season.

So why give up picks for him? Just grab him next year.

Why would they give up on a high second rounder so quickly? Vrabel must not like his game at all. Not bad shout considering it’s about as little comp as you can give but definitely seems like a lotto ticket.
