I think it's awesome we got a 5th round pick in a very deep draft for a player we were set to release.

That extra pick could nab us the speedy returner/player x this team needs

Absolutely, and the Saints always seem to find those gems.

We won't replace him with anyone better. There. I said it.

Because finding a fast, athletic back is going to be just impossible!!!

Please. Calm down, dude. Sproles was great when he first got here but his speed isn't the elite level it once was and he was abysmal as a returner. Dude would go down if a strong wind hit him. I want a fast player who can break a tackle and also assist with the return game.

Saints can absolutely find that in the draft this year.

his speed isn't elite anymore, but finding these scatbacks of sproles' 2011 caliber is not easy.

there are always fast and athletic backs. The issue is, finding one with good hands and can withstand the damage of 250lb linebackers ramming the crap out of them over and over.

Drafting someone with a similar skillset to Sproles' is easier than finding someone to cover other holes on the team, especially when certain moves are necessary due to our cap situation.

I don't think he will be duplicated exactly, but we could find a fast, shifty scatback in the draft's middle rounds at 1/3 of Sproles' price tag.

These are the same people who thought the Eagles were a dynasty when they put together their "Dream Team."

Then the game has clearly passed him by. He does not understand the business of the NFL. How many 31 year old RBs were traded for more than a 5th rounder? How much did Dallas get for Ware, TB for Revis, CAR for Smith, Pitt for Woodley, etc.?

Considering we got Stills in the fifth round last year, this has potential to work out very well.
