the 1st kicker of the draft comes off the board in the 3rd round as the 49ers take Michigan K Jake Moody

This made me laugh.

but 2 DL and a RB with our first 3 picks is what we needed, in theory.

absolutely agree, just think we could have and should have gone after a more dynamic, multidimensional player at RB, vs. a bruiser, since we signed Williams who already fits that bill

Boutte in the 4th would get someone fired. His RAS (4.97) eliminates him from our list .

Lol. Dude set the LSU receiving record in a game. Think about all the stud receivers lsu has had over the years and he owns it.

Our front office drafted a FSU lineman that wasn’t even a starter in the 4th round one year. And they are still here and not fired.

yeah, the redundancy is...curious to say the least?
For 2 years we're stuck with Williams; even if you go 3-head monster like we did previously....how are the carries gonna work out?

Imagine AK misses 6 games, so he's gonna do in 11?
150 carries, 50 receptions

Williams regresses towards his career average of 150-170 carries, 20-30 receptions.

Miller 100 carries, 10 receptions

minimizing taysom?

and had almost 400 less yards and 2 less TDs, in the same 2 year career window, as the vaunted Andy Hamilton...

yeah, that Andy Hamilton...

that's the only complaint i have with the pick, really... picking a RB serves a purpose, yet we needed a receiving RB, who gives us more versatility and creates mismatches, like Kamara, but Miller doesn't give us that... he gives us the exact same thing as we have in Williams (and Taysom, when he's a ballcarrier)

Y’all should have waited and taken Kenny McIntosh. He doesn’t have the big RB vibe, but the dude is just so good at catching passes and can pass protect very well.

I’m watching his highlights man…and I just don’t see why folks are complaining. Does he have Saquon speed? No. But this cat can run the fricking ball. I’m excited to have him.

ETA: another thing I noticed…his vision is fantastic. Not sure if that’s something scouts agree with but just watching his highlights and he’s one cut and in the right hole constantly.

He’s a beast. I love the way he runs.

Why did we sign Williams, then? To a relatively large contract for a backup RB?

When do we expect to move on from AK/Williams? Just when Miller would be demanding a 2nd contract?

Note: 2nd contracts for successful RBs you've drafted are typically a bad idea.

The short and long term plans just don't seem to make any logical sense.

If we used a 3rd round pick to supplement our running game for 6-8 games of a single year, that's insane.

The play should have been Tillman or Hyatt at 71

Hyatt would have been my choice. Olave, Hyatt, shaheed would really have some juice.

Also really wish we could have gotten Branch, but I do think dline was a massive need. But man our safeties suck and Branch seems like a quietly step in a play for 10 years safety.

I suspect Hill is gone after this season. Maybe they see Kamara transitioning to play more WR and less banging between the tackles? Both Williams and this kid are between the tackles runners.

Why would we draft a QB when we have one locked up for the next 3 years and his back up too?

DTR has shown improvement every year. I'd be happy with him as a pick. perfect situation, come in, develop, then take over

Today's trade marks the Saints' 23 consecutive trade up. New Orleans hasn't traded down since 2007. It has traded up at least once every other year besides 2012.
