BPA at DE, OLB, DT or OT. Maybe take McCluster if Reggie is no longer here.

RP found trouble at the Varsity.. He'd kick a few nickels in the pen if he got payed to work around the quarter

1st-Dan Williams dt Tenn
2nd-Eric Norwood OLB South Carolina
3rd-George Selvie DE USF/Rennie Curran OLB georgia
4th-Jeff Byers c USC
Then we would pull 2 huge steal
6th- LaGarrete Blount RB Oregon
7th - Freddie Barnes WR Bowling Green(Sleeper)
Selvie would only work in a 3-4
Barnes will be long gone by then as will Blount.

agreed. Nothing stands out about him but he is solid at everything.

anyone know how chip vaugn has been developing after the injury?
How would the board feel about drafting myron rolle w/ a 2nd day pick (don't know where he's projected) and letting him be an understudy to our current safeties for a few years?

not a huge Kiper fan but here's his ideal A grade draft projection for the Saints (pre SB). Pretty sound reasoning:
Top needs: OLB, DT, S
First round (31): DT Jared Odrick
Second-round options (62): LB Sean Lee, LB Sean Weatherspoon, LB Daryl Washington, S Larry Asante, S Morgan Burnett
Third-round options (92): LB Micah Johnson, S Harry Coleman, RB Dexter McCluster
Summary: The pick of Odrick isn't supposed to be a statement, an admittance that Sedrick Ellis was a bad pick two years ago. The bottom line is that Odrick is a great value. The Saints will need to continue to improve against the run and extremely talented interior linemen like Odrick that can let your LBs run free are guys you can't have enough of. Weatherspoon and Lee are both guys that would have to fall, but either could be a second-round home run. A great safety value could be an option, or a guy like McCluster, who Sean Payton could do a lot with if, for some unlikely reason, Reggie Bush ends up elsewhere.

I think Weatherspoon will be available when the Saints pick at 32d in the 1st round and they need to pull the trigger on this guy.

i think there will be a few trades on our end to either get some veterans or more picks.
maybe trading our first for another 2nd and 3rd
other than that we need to build our dline and lb's. our secondary is solid, we just need a front 7 that can get good pressure. we need to upgrade both OLB spots, one DT, and another DE

is it just me or does it seem like every defensive end seems to have the same knock on him.. "takes plays off.. seems to disappear at times" heck i've even seen this knock against veteran guys like peppers..

Yep. Remember that in Payton's first draft we got starters Jeff Faine and Hollis Thomas just for jumping back a handful of spots.

exactly, they are always aggresive on draft day. and if their hands are tied for free agency, then i see them making trades and aquiring picks, players, or both.
this will be a fun draft to watch because i won't be praying for a rookie to save our team.
it will also be really interesting if other teams make a run at one of our restircted free agents: most notably bushrod and harper
