which one is Hap?

Hap Glaudi is the one all the way on the right. I think that's Peter Finney second from the left but I don't who the other guys are. Probably local newspaper guys at the time.

Hap used to do the postgame show. When he died, Buddy D took over and they still called it "Hap's Point After." The biggest difference was that Hap wouldn't argue with the callers. Consecutive callers would say things that were 180 degrees different and he would agree with both.

Hap used to do the sports on channel 4 and he gave the most time to reading the racing results from the Fairgrounds.

Caller:
"Hey Hap, I think Billy Kilmer is the greatest quarterback to ever live. And, his mechanics are the best the game has ever seen. I mean, he throws the prettiest spiral in the game. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, Hap, I'll hang up and listen!"

Hap:
"Well, I guess you can make that argument. Now, let's look at today's track results."

Hap also used to do TV at Channel 4, until he was replaced in 1978 by...Jim Henderson.

Yes folks, he's been there THAT long.

Best Buddy D moment ever:

Saints just beat the Bucs in OT. Saints won the game by getting to the Bucs punter in his own end zone. The punter tried throwing the ball. Saints [link=(intercepted it)]https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200209080tam.htm[/link] in the end zone. Game over.

A caller calls and asks if James Allen the defensive who picked off the pass in the end zone should be someone the coaches have play a little WR.

There was about 5 seconds of silence. Buddy D went off. "Are you serious? That's the stupidest question I've ever heard."

Yeah- he would probably be laying all his cash on the Vikings and going bankrupt again. Unless he spent all his money paying for Marinello's lawyer

I think you are right about Peter Finney and I think the guy next to Hap is Keith Rush. The guy on the far left I believe is another sports broadcaster but for the life of me I can't think of his name.

interesting, i didn't know who they were since the picture is so old. they can say what they want about Hap; he was a real Yat... who graduated from Jesuit High and if i'm not mistaken; the reason he went into TV sports/broadcasting was because, he won the "Elocution Award" while in school. didn't he also wish people happy birthday and happy anniversaries while doing his sports on WWL?

chop, thanks for the heads up.

About Hap - my wife loved that I would wash the dishes after dinner. It wasn't that I liked washing dishes, but it was my way of listening to Hap on WWL in the evening without having to tell my wife to stop talking.

eh maybe its just an old time saints fan thing, but from what I remember of him, he sucked

hell half of the "great" memories in here appear to be about the guy's complete inability to say anything correctly.

No way, much more entertaining than the people who have tried to fill his shoes.
