Official Drew Brees Hype Thread

Probably due to his controversial political opinions and his attempt to ruin the famous reputation of New Orleans cuisine, many take for granted that we have a top 3 NFL QB. With Drew under center, the offense will always be very good. I truly believe that the height issue and the fact that he's balding has always kept him out of "GOAT talks." The only thing that separates Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees in media talks are the fact that Rodgers has a full head of hair and is a feminist.


While Drew has been so great over the years, he hasn't been as consistent as he was during the 2009-2013 glory days. Some would argue that he throws too many interceptions. I would argue that a shitty defense and lack of a consistent running game force the guy to try and do too much sometimes. When trying to keep up with their record setting defense, the Saints are pretty much forced to start chucking it, putting all the pressure on Drew. DE's can pin their ears back and DB's are sitting back waiting for Drew's next attempt to keep the Saints in the game.


Looking at Drew's worst games last year, see how poor the running game was

SD: 22/36 207 yards, 5.8 yards per attempt, 2 TD, 2 INT, 74.7 QB rating

DET: 31/44 326 yards, 7.4 yards per attempt, 0 TD, 3 INT 63 QB rating
12 carries for 50 yards, 4.2 YPC

TB: 25/41 263 yards, 6.3 yards per attempt, 0 TD, 3 INT 48.5 QB rating
16 carries for 46 yards, 2.9 YPC

Beefing up the OL (healthy Tyrone Armstead, Ramczyk for depth, and Warford (16th best run blocker in the NFL)), adding AD, and adding a RB who can pick up 3 and 7's with safe reads will take a TON of pressure off Brees. We will see the lowest number of INT's in his Saints career.

I noticed that Brees picked up a couple MPH in the dude perfect video, an added bonus and shows that he can still sling it, even at 38


I think Brees is a top 10 (maybe top 5) QB of all time, but I'm not going to lie and say there weren't times over the last few years where I wasn't thinking, "Drew, wtf was that?" He can't do it all by himself, and I don't think he will have to this year.
