Lets post realistic options (for good or bad) that Dennis Allen could be choosing from.

Josh McDaniels
Bill O'Brien
Joe Brady
Mike McCoy

There is no way that they fire him, so I actually agree with Chad

Sean will be traded and Pete will go with him. That whole Dolphins mess was probably why it took Pete so long to agree to even be our OC.

So DA will need an OC.

Unless he's our 2023 HC, give me Frank Reich

Not saying it’s what I prefer but I think it’s a more likely probability

All jokes aside, since it won't be a promotion, would they need to give us something in return for Pete? Or do they just need the Saints permission to "interview him"?

Well that's simply not true. Let him lose out and he's gone. And if he's not gone after that, then this franchise deserves to revert back to the poverty state it was in pre-Payton.

They would need permission to interview, but I would think for a lateral job move that they would have to give compensation.

I think they could probably give him the OC role along with another fancy title (AHC) and then it wouldnt be a lateral move and not need permission or compensation

They would definitely give him a new fancy title to make it sound like he's getting a promotion to avoid any compensation. But the reality is Loomis should demand no more than a 1st rounder and a starter for Payton. But, if they take Pete and the rest of the staff we'll settle for a 3rd
