1. Carr comes to N.O.

2. We trade Payton and get a top pick worthy enough to draft our possible future QB.

3. We run with Dalton or Winston next season and look at the next draft class.

It sucks but the answer is 3

Whatever pick we get for Payton will most likely end up going to a CB or something we don’t really need

1) he’ll have a bidding war for his services

2) doubt they get a top 5 pick for Payton, so I don’t think they can reach unless they get close enough and give the Bears way too much

3) IMO, most likely situation

If we get a top 15 1st for Payton we will grab a QB. We may have to reach, but I think we’d grab one. Doesn’t mean he’ll be ready first year. I do hope we resign Dalton, nothing else to be a backup or give a rookie time to figure it out. Next year is gonna suck, don’t waste a rookies confidence unless he’s top 1-2 QBs in the draft. I’m still gonna be pumped up for next year also though, like always.

Hows about add a 4th option. Lose enough games to get the 1st pick next year and hope Loomis didn't trade it away. Start the rebuild with a great 1st round pick and a salary cap that isn't 60 million in the red. That way you can get a coach that can come in and start fresh.

I actually want #3.

All things considered, after young and stroud the rest have HUGE question marks.

I like the bite the bullet option. Endure major suckage for a year. It's not like we haven't done that before.

I'd be surprised if Dennis was fired this off-season and surprised if he wasn't fired after next year. Start with a clean slate in 2024. Money and picks might attract a good coach.

Even if they were able to somehow get Young or Stroud, I’d love to see Dalton on a 3 year deal. Year 1 with the plan to start until the rookie is ready (even if game 1 in 2023), Year 2-3 as a vet backup and spread bonus money

Sadly 2024 will need to be up there in order to get 2023 under control

I think Garoppolo will be available.

SO ....

Carr, Garoppolo, Dalton/ Winston or a draft pick...

Well, Dalton was told they are keeping him and drafting a QB, so I’m going with #3. He will stay around to start the season and mentor
