Next year you have to pay marcus williams first and foremost.

Have to figure out if you are going to pay armstead. I don't see how you let him leave.

Jameis is up and so is hill.

if Jameis plays well this season, I can see Hill leaving - i think that may be a forgone conclusion - especially if he took Jameis getting the starting as an affront

And be the same thing he is elsewhere? Who’s he gonna go start for?

I see us moving on from armstead and it’ll be a tough decision but we need Marcus Williams more.

I think we’ve squeezed all the juice out of Armstead we can. Better to let him go early then overpay on his last contract.

If Jameis plays well this season it throws a very welcome wrench into our cap plans. His contract as a 28 year old UFA will be large if he is the real deal for the saints this year.

Armstead has reached the point where you let him walk with one last payday somewhere else, then after he goes down hill you sign him back a couple years later as a veteran backup who knows the plays

Hill will walk at anything over 6 mil.

I would take a bet on Taysom being gone next year.

Yeah. Marcus covers such a massive amount of field. He came into the league so young that he’s just starting to enter his prime and turned 25 last week. There are only a few players with his skill set in the league and he’s likely the best.

Malcolm Jenkins will be cut after this year. It was basically a two year deal. And Hill is making around 10 I think. That’s two big contracts.

The Saints would be smart to see if they can get Jameis to sign for less than what he would make if he had a pro bowl type season but still a nice chunk of money. Maybe 3 years $50 million or something and just see if he bites on it. That would guarantee him a nice payday while still having the chance to be a free agent again at 31 and it would be a discount as far as QB money goes. It’s a forgone conclusion they will get Marcus Williams locked up. True ball hawking center field type safeties are a must in this pass happy league and he’s one of the very best. You’re probably looking in the neighborhood of 4 years $52-60 million for him. I think if the Saints thought they could get Armstead back at the value he’s making now they would be thrilled. He’s at the last year of a 5 year $65 mil deal which is only $13 mil per year, a bargain for left tackles now. Out of all the players up for a nee contract I think he would be he guy willing to take a more team friendly deal to stay with the Saints. I would happily hand him 3 years $45 million with most all of it guaranteed and I could see him agreeing to something like that since he’s already gotten one big contract. He really loves the city and the team and he’s still a top 5 LT in the league. Then the year after we will have to make Erik McCoy one of, if not the highest paid center in the NFL but Peat’s contract would be coming off the books.

Ram will be the LT to replace Armstead ... Landon Young will be the RT unless we upgrade.

I think we draft a T in early rounds next year. Possibly grab a 2nd tier type FA T to add some competition. Yeah, when TA's contract runs out he's gone I'd imagine. Great player but he's gonna want another big contract, and I don't blame him one bit.
