well we're last in cap space now again in 2022.

LINK /

We don't have Marcus Williams franchised tagged that year and don't have Jameis or Taysom under contract neither yet. Terrom Armstead is a free agent with dead monies on the book. Kwon is a free agent. Roby cut would save 10 mill but then he'd be a free agent.

Interesting as always.

We will undoubtedly re-work some deals, convert some salaries into signing bonuses, etc.

yea we essentially have no choice. Cam jordan can do us a solid by signing some sort of fake extension.

Imagine if Brees took less money over the last 5 years while he was declining.

I don't recall Jenkins being a problem. I do recall opposing defenses playing a certain way because Brees couldn't throw deep the last 5 years.

You are complaining about a starter who makes $6M this year, while we are still strapped with Drew Brees cap hit of $11M.

Yes, Brees contract has been a problem.

Does that include the Taysom "extension"? Think Saints fans should learn by now that Loomis knows what he's doing when it comes to the cap.

you are a fricking joke. we've had one of the best records in the nfl the past 5 years. some very tough playoff breaks. Drew played his arse off for us for 15 years. Go frick yourself.

Loomis will just simply turn off the salary cap option again

How many times is Loomis going to Houdini his way out of cap shackles and seemingly do whatever he wants before we stop freaking out about the cap every year?

This isn't freaking out. It's a discussion. There are obstacles and hurdles that can be discussed.

Hopefully we get a significant increase in the cap with fans back in the stands. The covid cap impact is what screwed us. Looks like in that link they are expecting a big jump. I’d love to see us start chipping away at some of these future debts if we could.

goat, i would be more than glad to talk about anything with you you'd like.

I posted as relevance due to the Lattimore extension being done which we have a new look at where we stand now.

you call them obstacles and hurdles. The league calls them rules. Lewmiz calls them suggestions.
