re: No love for Stafford being a saint on here?

I don’t think he’s a perfect fit but I think Sean could make a really fricking good offense with him at the helm and all our current weapons (would need to get a true deep threat).
That said, without literally GUTTING the roster or basically impairing the future of the team with a lot of ghost years, there’s nothing we can do to actually afford him

Stafford would do very well in this offense. There would be an adjustment period I'm sure. But he'd make us a dangerous team for sure

Unfortunately I agree, no way we can afford him.

This Board loves Stafford. And I’ll get downvoted first this post like I always do, but I don’t get why people on here love him so much.
He’s too expensive and we can’t afford him. He has a huge arm, but his accuracy is so-so IMO. And big armed QBs tend to fall off hard when that arm strength fades. Which will be soon as he will be 33 in a month or so. I only see him going about three years at best with any talent, then a hard fall with two or three years being injury ridden and hard to watch.

How in hell do you figure we pay him

I don't see how we bring in a vet like Stafford when we are in the salary cap situation that we are in next year. Looks like we are $99M over the cap next year.

He’s ok, but I’ll pass. Rather just get someone on the cheap or a reclamation project until we get a long term starter. There’s talk in Carolina Bridgewater may get cut if they draft a qb....

Ehh. He’s good. But on the decline. Maybe get 2-3 years of good left in him. His arm strength is still good. But we need a guy to build the franchise around for years to come.
He is 32.

Trading for Stafford means losing a young talent.
Realistically, you ride with hill and hope he's the future. If not, draft one in the 2022 draft and call him the future.
