Ryan Nielsen will get a new 3-year contract and the added title of assistant head coach with the Saints, per source.
Dan Campbell had the title of asst. head coach before leaving for the Lions. So Nielsen will take on some of the leadership duties associated with that role.
Buried in other thread.

I’m an LSU fan but the LSU fans crying about this are morons. The saints wanted to keep him and they did. That’s all there is to it.

Don’t tell tiger on the mountain. He is busy calling the saints a low class organization for promoting a guy after enforcing a clause in his contract. He hates capitalism

What a horrible franchise promoting him like that lol

He was "promoted" and given a raise (which is still probably less that what lsu offered) and extension to help repair the relationship that Sean just ruined. Nielsen had already accepted the lsu contract but the saints did LITERALLY EVERYTHING to prevent a man from increasing his salary 300-400% and become a defensive coordinator instead of a position coach. They bribed his compliance, since he couldn't get out of the contract without a legal battle. I bet he leaves New Orleans ASAP.

You have no fricking clue what he did or did not accept. Yeah leaves New Orleans ASAP after 3 years? Are you braindead? Melt more

If Nielson was black, he would be at LSU

That's not fair this time

This promotion still helps put him on other teams radars for future employment as a DC or even a HC job just like Campbell.
Some LSU fans are just salty as frick. You weren't going to be a championship contender based on that hire alone

How does it feel that Nielsen used your sinking ship of a program to advance his career with the Saints?

You are a puddin head.

First off I am a big LSU fan but I am glad the Saints stuck it to the LSU fans after they were so excited to see White and Fournette end the Saints season.

Exactly.
The Saints TE coach just a HC job in the NFL because he was Assistant HC (now, he was an interim HC before and did well, but I digress).

He missed on his #1 choice and Nielsen was the one lined up. Nothing wrong there.

Just like keeping him isn't going to make your team of spoiled punk social activists champions either. Yall suck that bad. Nothing but a has been organization in a former tourist town.

Exactly, had this been bama coming for him they would have praised the Saints...
