Their optimal OL likely involves Fuaga moving back to RT and finding a true LT. Penning can backup both and/or try his hand inside. Don’t believe he’s in the long term plans

i still have hope penning can be an above average OL and excel in run blocking.

I heard a lot more O lineman are going to go in the first round than people think. But if Banks is gone and Conerly is their guy than I’m okay with it. I mean put Conerly at LT, Fuaga at his natural RT, McCoy at C, and Ruiz and Penning at G. Hopefully, it’s a line that doesn’t get blown into the backfield every play.

The player is fine. Position is fine - especially if they do trade back up into the first or jump high in the 2nd for a QB. Shows Moore wants to make sure the OL is secure for his future QB

I just don’t agree with the value in regards to who might be available when they pick. If Warren, Graham, Jeanty and Walker are gone, then it’s fine. But if they pass on one of those players for Conerly I’ll melt….hard

Here's what Daniel Jeremiah wrote about Josh Conerly, his 39th rated prospect

quote:

Rank 39 Josh Conerly Jr.
Oregon · OT · Junior

Conerly has an athletic frame with solid bulk and long arms. He lined up at left tackle for the Ducks. In the pass game, he pops out of his stance with quick feet and is patient with his hands. He can cut off speed rushers and effectively redirect versus counters. He does have some hip tightness and lacks ideal sink and bend. He lunges on occasion, putting himself in bad positions. In the run game, he fits well initially but needs to improve his ability to stay attached and finish. He plays under control at the second level and out in space. Overall, Conerly isn’t an elite athlete, but he has the tools to develop into a solid starter in time.

Daniel Jeremiah’s write ups and rating system are always so wonky to me. He’ll write that this guy has tons of issues and needs development but then ratings wise he’ll be the 2nd best prospect for that position and have the “eventual plus starter” under it.

shite makes no sense

Conerly edges fuaga in 40 and shuttle yet is less athletic score. Not sure why vertical should matter that much

The consequences with their strategy over the years is a bottom 3 roster….

Philly is all about building from the trenches out so a lineman wouldn't surprise me at all.

Not true at all. We have dumped considerbly more assets in the oline than what philly has. They just lucked out by having an undrafted player hit at LT and started a former first rounder that was cut after being lazy that any team could have signed for peanuts last year.

They burned two seconds recently and one first rounder over 12 years ago. Ram was picked after and has already retired since they drafted Lane. That’s not prioritizing the oline.

We have though and it’s been a disaster.
