Not bad going against Suh....if old baw can keep his dick in his pants we should be alright.
"Coming in HOT as your top graded player on offense in Week 11 is Nick Easton!
In his first action with the team, Easton earned an outstanding 83.5 overall grade after a very successful day in the run game and pitching a pressure shutout on 37 opportunities.#Saints #WhoDat"

Nope. I don’t trust this.
I don’t know how, but you are somehow going to transition into how this shows Davenport sucks.

Playing last week against Atlanta may have helped, instead of letting Clapp get put on skates...

Turns out his inactives were simply do to his inability to backup the tackle positions.

So.... why exactly was he inactive all season

My man cheese....give Davenport a break, he is struggling. You don't need to call him out all the time.

no one knows, but they will give you snarky smart assed replies like its so obvious, when in truth, they have no idea either
coaches must have not liked something they saw at practice is all i can see.

I remember Mike D saying in training camp that he had not recovered from his injury

Hendrickson was inactive ALOT last season but when Davenport got hurt he stepped up and played well until he got back. And look how well he’s played this season.
Some of the times the Inactives has nothing to do with performance but rather we like this player, but we have a lot of depth, let’s have him practice and game prep but keep him off to keep him healthy. There was really no reason for him to be active. Payton wanted Clapp to be the 6th OL probably because he blocks better on the perimeter for those jumbo packages. Of course, Easton also might have had some lingering injury stuff too that could have affected Payton’s decision to make him active

I mean we do know. He can’t backup the tackle positions and Clapp backups all of them. It’s one of the reasons Payton wants to expand the rosters.
Now maybe he should have been starting over Peat, but that is a whole different discussion.

Ah so that explains Mike D saying how disappointed the staff was with Easton and being a massive waste of $. Or maybe your assumption is wrong

He went from inactive to starting in 1 week
But if Mike D has said it...and I don't doubt that we were disappointed with his progress coming off IR, but he still went from inactive to starting over the guy who was active ahead of him
We always go for versatility there and Payton has made the complaint before

The problem had to be they wanted Clapp as their eligible TE guy. He could already fill in at G in a pinch. If that’s the case, I think they liked saving the active day spot for someone besides basically a 2nd injury insurance policy.
Now that Peat is all the way out, Easton slides in as the starter and you can still keep Clapp as the swing guy.
ETA you have to remember, Easton was signed before the new C was drafted. He’s not playing over either of them when healthy (which there’s some indication he wasn’t all the way), then why waste the active spot? The more you think about it the less it was ever about ability and more so about roster management.
That all said, does Peat ever get his spot back?

not if Easton keeps playing as well as he did last week. he did a great job against a really good dline. Peat has played his last down in NOLA i think. he was always going to be the odd man out when it came down to the contracts the saints will be giving out this and next offseason
