But we have 2024 1st. 2023 will be a really bad year.

The cap is not an issue. How long have you watched Loomis work? The hc and ox are the issues. Get 2 firsts for Payton and we’re in business with a new staff.

At best we get 1 first in 2023. We need that AND our top-7 pick (that we gifted the Eagles)

Tear the band-aid off. Demand Loomis take his lumps, get the dead cap off the books, give Allen a short leash and let him know you expect progress with the hand he's dealt.

This has, unfortunately, always been the end result of Brees/Payton era ending. Saw that a decade+ ago. All the more reason I hoped for one more SB with them… we had the shot but it was stolen from us.

We could be bad for 5-20 years now, who knows. Progressively worse is the way forward unless and until we find a franchise QB and coach. We have neither currently.

It will take a couple years to do this. We can't even really start until 2024 unless we just let a lot of people go (including Davenport)

Certain guys we are severely restricted (Lattimore, Ram, Taysom)

This is what happens when you kick the can too many times. That only works if you maintain a good-elite level.

Unload injury-prone Mike Thomas and Andrus Peat salaries for whatever pics you can get. That should help go a long way

Hopefully some team gives us a bunch of draft picks for Peyton.

Wishful thinking:

Whatever the Eagles get from our first round pick, I hope turns out to be an expensive bust

We really will be in nearly as dire straits as we were in 2005 when you consider the crime and how bad NOLA has gotten coupled with Lady Gayle having zero ability to know what to do.

Say what you want about Tom Benson but he presided over 3 different coaches who all took losing franchises to the playoffs.

If we do both pre-June 1, we will only clear a little over $4M
