Sick to my stomach. I can only feel for the players. NFL should be ashamed.

The most tainted, irrelevant Super Bowl will be played in 2 weeks.

There is literally no excuse that vindicates this a-hole. I keep hoping to hear him defend it so he can go down as the most hated official in the history of sports. Hell even ole Bug-Eyes Ritter would have been too ashamed to let that one go.

Any way you can post the pic. I’m blocked from viewing it. Not sure why

Ref #13 clearly wanted to throw the flag and paused to see what SJ #60 was going to do. Just a gutless piece of shite. #13 didn't want it all to be on his shoulders so he let someone else influence him and they both made it worse. He should have just done his job.

It's tough to really see from any of the videos but from that angle you can see the black dude grab his flag and then it looks like he looks at the other official and starts waiving incomplete. The smugness of the old dude is what pisses me off the most. He's acting like there's just no possible way they ever frick up. I want to legit fight that guy.

My understanding (at this point I am not sure where I got it) is that #60 the side judge called a tip and that's why #13 held the flag. #13 would have deferred on the tip call since the SJ had a better view of the LOS. It is all on #60. However, #13 should have called the penalty and conferred with those closest to the line to determine if there was indeed a tip and picked up the flag if warranted.

A bang bang play means that both players from each team drew enough contact to warant a flag being called on either of them.

After watching it more than I want. I believe SJ 60 was blocked out from seeing the ball in relation to the player hitting TLL. It's why he said Bang/Bang, he assumed it was simultaneous.
#13 saw it and thought about the flag but let 60 influence what he saw.
I thought it was fixed yesterday. Now I just think it was another case of incompetence on the part of both refs.
At a minimum both should be fired, but they will probably get a raise since clearly the NFL got what they wanted.

Wut. It just means it was close enough to give the benefit of doubt to the defender. Kinda like tie goes to the runner in baseball.

So, to be clear - it's kind of like when a defenseless player gets hit helmet to helmet by a lunging defender? Would you consider that to be a textbook bang bang?
