Agreed. Our offense may actually not be Sean Paytons leftovers next year.

Olave is looking like a complimentary WR, but maybe he finally takes a step next year. Nothing like a bust but may be over-drafted
What? How was Olave over drafted lol?

He's looking like a WR2 and not the WR1 we drafted. Like my post said, a complimentary WR (not a lead WR)
Hopefully he takes a step forward in year 3

Bitching about it is kind of a moot point. The roster needs young talent. They got that. Granted, I would have preferred Turner but Fuaga is a solid as hell pick, even with the Guard comps.
Is it going to make that big of a difference if he’s a Pro Bowl Guard or Pro Bowl RT? Not really. We need good players. He’s probably got the safest floor in the draft other than Alt. Not a sexy pick. Not a pick I’m overly thrilled about. But he’s going to be a long term starter here. That’s all we could really ask for

Does anyone else love fautanu?
Man I mightve traded back and gotten him.
Even if he just plays guard

Olave in two NFL seasons has already proven himself to be a top-20 player at the position. He has earned PFF receiving grades of 82.9 in each of the past two years and is coming off his second straight campaign with a yards per route run average above 2.00.
Doesn’t sound like PFF sees him as a WR2. Article and grades are from PFF, since you like quoting them so much

He’s a hell of a player. Think both him and Fuaga will be great players.

There are 3 guys with higher potential we passed on to draft for needs
Now, Turner's floor is complete bust, but he was my #3
Latu and Murphy have elite potential at their positions.

Yeah, they kind of do. Top 20 = WR2
WR1 doesn't mean you go down 32 teams and WR2s start at #33
There aren't that many WR1s in the league. We paid the price of a WR1 (and then some) for Olave
He's gotta take major steps in toughness, contested catch, and ability after the catch to move into that tier. He's got a long way to go and in some ways went backwards in year 2.

Do you think Garret Wilson was over drafted?
Olave had more receiving yards and TDs than Wilson who was drafted above him last year.

You say this but then completely disregard the capital we’ve invested in the DL already. We signed Chase Young and drafted Bresee. We still need more DTs and Murphy would have been great but let’s be serious, after the news about Ram, their plans changed.
I don’t really see Murphy having THAT much higher potential than Fuaga considering he and Bresee play the same position and it’s a low impact position unless you’re elite elite like Donald or Chris Jones. Latu I can see. Have loved him for a while.

He did not take a step in year 2, either, but he also had Zach Wilson throwing to him. Olave had vastly superior QB play, even with our QB room.
Zach Wilson makes Jameis look like a 1st ballot HOF

Murphy would have been fine and even though I like Latu, you can’t take that risk. You’ve been harping on how long we knew about Ram’s knee…what about Latu’s neck

Dude has played 2 years lol
Do you expect every wr drafted early in first round to be Justin Jefferson or Randy Moss???!!

Curious as to what was being offered for our pick

We signed Chase Young and drafted Bresee.
Young is coming off surgery, Cam is old (may be done), and Granderson may not be a full time guy. We need edge.
We need a lot at DI, too. Bresee looked OK last year, but the rest is pretty poo.

He's got that sort of penetrating talent. I mean not at THAT level, but a Fletcher Cox level. It's been a while since a DI penetrator like him has come into the draft.
Guys like Fuaga are in every draft

All reports are he's 100% cleared. I mean he literally went one pick later by a team with a lot more recent draft success than we have had.
Murphy then went the next pick to, again, a better drafting team than us lately.
