They only showed one replay. I think the play is legal. Lateral pass. It always looks forward because the catching player is moving forward, but the ball was lateral.

Live it looked illegal but Taysom was falling back which made it look like illegal.

I know it’s risky but idk why teams don’t lateral more often. Seems like an extra thing that a defense would have to account for if they knew you were willing to do it

It was absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt a legal play, but the NFL doesn’t like fun and exciting things. Therefor they will bring it back.
