Hello Who Dats and welcome to the Week 15/Game 14 Saints Game Thread
Now this is more like it... back in primetime
BA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAA... DUN DUN... DUN DUN
That's right... the 2018 NFC South Division Champions are on Monday Night Football tonight... taking on the team they dispatched in last season's Wild Card Playoff game in the Mercedes Benz Superdome... the Carolina Panthers
Also gives us a chance to remember that we're playing the Cam Jordan's favorite QB to try to sack Cam Newton
When the NFL schedule makers set it up for us to play Carolina twice in the final 3 weeks of the season, I'm sure they expected the Panthers and Saints to be battling for the Division Title, not for the Panthers to be in free fall and the Saints to have the division all wrapped up already... but here we are
The Panthers are desperate to end a 6-game losing streak and keep their dwindling playoff hopes alive
Meanwhile... the Saints got some unexpected help last night as the Philadelphia Eagles went across the country and knocked off the Los Angeles Rams 30-23, giving the Saints 1 to the good in the loss column in the race for the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs. The magic number for the Saints to lock up home field throughout the playoffs now sits at 2 heading into tonight's game. Tonight's game could very well be the final game the Saints play outside the Mercedes Benz Superdome all the way to the Super Bowl should they take care of their business.
Injury wise... it seems both teams are healthy in regards to players actually still on the 53 man roster. The Saints will be without Terron Armstead as they apparently feel they're fine without him and Jermon Bushrod can handle the job for the time being and can let Armstead's shoulder fully heal up up time for the playoffs. On the other sideline, Cam Newton is nursing a well-documented shoulder injury but will play. The only player listed as OUT for the Panthers is K Graham Gano with a left knee injury. DT Kawann Short was listed as DOUBTFUL on Saturday but has since been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE so we'll have to wait to game time to find out about his status.
LET'S DE-CLAW THE KITTIES AND SEND $CAM CRYING BACK TO RIVRBOAT RON AND HIS MOMMY
Saints Playoff Clinching Scenarios:
Due to the Bears' victory over the Packers yesterday, the Saints can't clinch anything tonight. However, a win tonight gives the Saints 2 chances AT HOME to get 1 win and clinch the #1 seed in the NFC Playoffs
Uniforms: Once again... it's white on black for the Who Dats in the final road game of the regular season
Tonight's Officials:
Referee: #99 Tony Corrente (this is the 2nd time this season we've gotten Corrente's crew... he reffed our game in Cincinnati last month, a 51-14 Saints win... Corrente was also the head referee of our Wild Card game last season against Carolina in the Superdome)
Umpire: #76 Alan Eck
Down Judge: #13 Patrick Turner
Line Judge: #47 Tim Podraza
Field Judge: #7 Keith Washington
Side Judge: #25 Ryan Dickson
Back Judge: #30 Todd Prukop
Replay Official: Lou Nazzaro

With a win, I could be in person to see the saints clinch home field next week. I was in Atlanta to see braves clinch the division. This could end up being a great sports year for me

I have a bad feeling about tonight...Im trying to stay positive but something in me feels the Saints come out flat......
We need Ingram to come out and play like he did in the second half of last weeks game......
