New GM in these Times?

It should be a question the Owners should be asking themselfs. If we are REALLY going to get a draft pick or two to actually GET rid of Loomis, then it is something to consider just like every other business decision. Can’t have emotion mix with biscuits. He was great in 09 but now he can stay with Pelicans and focus there. Maybe do a hidden door double dip of work so we could get all the benefits.
I am NOT saying that I think this would be my choice but Ray Nagin is out now and he would be a good place holder, at least to get the Advantage of having more draft pics. Lord knows that politicians have the strings attached that you can pull. Would be some story if we rowed him to another championship.

This rule will benefit the patriots. Since Bill is GM anyways they will just rotate minority GM’s for multiple picks.

Saints could easily benefit from it as well. Loomis is already the Executive VP & GM. However, Payton & Ireland make all the personnel decisions. It's Loomis' job to get the contracts within the cap. Ireland has already indicated he would love to be GM again, but doesn't want to leave the Saints until he wins a SB.
Once Ireland leaves, Loomis could "step away" from the GM role in title and still handle/manage the contracts. The GM would have the say in personnel, with SP's sign-off and Loomis just has to get the #s to work. Exactly how it's done now.

Hell, Bill might "demote" himself to assistant coach with heavy input on every decision and hire a minority "head" coach.
