Don’t know if it’s been discussed, but a Rams win over SF on Saturday nite puts us in very favorable position for at least a bye. Doesn’t even REQUIRE a Green Bay loss to MN, though a GB loss is certainly the most desirable outcome. Hell, a W in Nashville isn’t even an absolute necessity, but we ain’t losin

Bottom Line Ideal Scenario for Week 16:

Rams W
Saints W
Vikings W
Seahawks L (unlikely)

If SF loses than I want Seattle to lose as well

I don't see how the Packers beat anyone...they are the most vanilla elite team I think I have ever seen.

But it's also not that simple. If the Rams beat SF, and GB, NOLA & Sea win out, Saints are still the 3 seed. So, we'd still need GB or Sea to lose in this scenario to get a bye.

I'm rooting for Houston to win Saturday. We don't need any more incentive for the Titans.

Correct, so lets root for the 49ers, Seahawks and Packers to lose.

if we lose a game we lose any chance at a bye and end up a 3 or 4 seed

the rest has too many variables to worry about

Ummm, no. There are absolutely ZERO scenarios under which we finish as the #4 seed. And yes, it is possible (not probable) to get a bye with a loss to an AFC Titans team. But again, that ain’t happenin

math isn't your strong suit. It's not physically possible for us to end up as the 4 seed

They would still be in the hunt for the 6th seed. Even if the Bills win Saturday as well, the Titans are right there with the Steelers for the final spot. So, the Titans will still have a playoff berth on the line no matter what Sunday.

It's possible but I think the Vikings is the most important game. Question is how motivated will they be because they will likely have clinched a playoffs spot by the time they play. There is still a outside chance at the division but requires a Lions loss with is not likely.

True, but I think they will still have a shot at the 5th seed which would match them up against the Dallas/Philly winner

I know, but not a shot at the division title, only a wild card.

Don't we hold the tiebreaker over Seattle since we beat them head-t0-head? Wouldn't that put us at the #2 seed and GB at #1?

Wouldn't matter. 3 way tie with SEA & GB puts us in at #3 (based on NFC W-L)

Someone posted that the Packers were leading the league in net first downs by penalty.

The Saints, of course, are near the bottom of this stat.

The Vikes may have to deal with AR and the refs.

The Lions earlier in the season had the Packers beat.

The refs stepped in and continued Packers' drives in the fourth quarter to enable their comeback.

H2H does not come into play when 3 teams are tied unless all 3 teams played each other.

Got it. In that case we only really need GB to drop a game right. If we and the Seattle win out that means they beat the Niners leaving us tied with the Seahawks at 13-3. In this scenario we own the tiebreaker and thus the #1 seed, correct?
