Is he better then Dalton, yes he is. That being said, he should be able to win the division (depending who are the QB's in the South). But the bigger picture isn't winning the South, it's about going to the Superbowl. So ultimately, we will be picking in the 20's and above in the draft which takes us out of drafting a generational QB. I'd rather roll with Dalton (providing we sign him) potentially draft inside the top 10 next year and get our future QB.

David Carr retired so I don't think he's in the running.

What an interesting take. I hadn't thought it about it that way and I scrolled the front page and I think you are the first one to talk about David Carr.

that ship has sailed

We had 15 years with a hall of fame QB and great coach to try and pile up rings.. we won one, screwed out of a chance at another, and gut-wrenchingly blew at least one more chance.

The window is closed. The final nail was whiffing on Davenport and Turner

Why not? It literally happened this year.

My 2 cents regarding your take: Only losers cheer for their team to intentionally lose

What makes you think any QBs that will be in next year‘s are draft generational QBs? I don’t see any

Brother, you're 100% correct. I'm not talking about going to the SB in a year or two. I'm talking about drafting inside the top 10 for our future QB.

Don't know at all. What I do know is Joe Burreaux wasn't seen as a generational QB, but it happened. We don't know what will happen in college this upcoming year.

Our fanbase and market doesn’t have the stomach to bottom out and actually become a real contender again. The “winners” would rather keep applying a bunch of bandaids and kicking the can. Our coaching staff and front office is strictly in self preservation mode at this time.

He wasn’t until he went to LSU and got a chance to prove it, will a Joe Burrow type emerge next season in college? No one knows but I do know the best rated QBs starting the year off in college football next season I would not consider them generational types. Better example would be Josh Allen not Burrow since Joe had probably the most prolific season ever as a starting qb in college history based on the level of competition and Josh came from a lesser school and blossomed in the pros.

Dalton didn’t start every game now did he? That’s the primary problem with your statement

He also hit multiple receivers in the facemask with balls in the end zone that were dropped

Ok. All I'm saying, Carr will get us out of drafting inside the top 10. We need to eventually draft a QB early and pray it works out.

People need to stop thinking Madden rules when it comes to QBs.

Jalen Hurts was a second round pick. Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant. Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold went 1st and 3rd in the draft and Lamar Jackson went 31st in the same draft. Drew Brees went in the second round. A-A-Ron went 20 something.

A top ten pick doesn’t guarantee you a generational QB. You could get Burrow or Mahomes. But you’re more likely to get Zack Wilson, Mitch Trubisky Josh Rosen, Jake Locker, Blake Bortles, Carson Wentz, Marcus Mariota, Blaine Gabbert, JaMarcus Russell, Matt Leinart, Joey Harrington, Vince Young, EJ Manuel, Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, etc. etc. etc.
