I understand talking about who you want to draft or don't want to draft at a certain spot. What I don't understand is the obsession of mock drafts. Maybe it's just me but they seam useless to me.

On a national scale it’s fun to pretend like we have vibes on risers and fallers and supposed value of said players

they are a nice break from the worn-down narrative about the Saints whether the narrative is warranted or unwarranted.

hell, I'll go do one and make a thread about it now.

Here is the kicker though.

You don't have to read it since you think they are useless.

It gives fans feeling like they are in control of their team.

I mean I know guys who would Sim games in Madden just to do the roster management part of the game.

I use them to gain insight about players who I can't scout during the regular college season. When you're making mock decisions that could the effect mock future of your favorite team for years to come you need all the information possible. One terrible mock draft pick in the top 10 of the first round and you could be out of a job as mock GM.

I take it very serious.

Just gives us something to do to keep football talk going. I'm not obsessed, but nothing wrong with playing GM for a while.

Well they are this. I think it’s more just like a game people like to play when not much is happening with the sport.

I know I’ll do fantasy mocks trying to draft what I feel like is the perfect team at the time.

People think they’re useless bc they expect them to nail every pick and get upset when they don’t. They are useful to gather info on players and what tier they fall into

You could’ve looked at a mock from a year ago and it gives you an idea of players to monitor throughout the year. Those same players are grouped relatively the same in more recent mocks.

this one is from profootballnetwork.com

no trades

9) Jaylon Walker LB
40) Grey Zabel OL
71) TJ Sanders DL
93) Jaylin Noel WR
112) Jacob Parrish CB
131) Logan Brown OT
184) Tahj Brooks RB
248) Eli Badger WR

Parrish being there at #112 didn't see realistic but it is what it is.

I would like to see us take Tetairoa McMillan if not a play for a QB KM wants.

His film is legit.

Has a serious contested catch skillset, and size/length/quickness.

He is not a burner, but Keenan Allen thrived with KM, so I’d take a similar type.

McMillian has great body control mid air.

He would have been great for Brees to throw to.

Carr?

well at times sure but it's not like Carr is the future.
