He delivered 6-4 with a worse team around him, so why not 2-2?

He would do a heck of a lot better than Jake Haener would, most likely.

I didn't say he wouldn't/couldn't deliver 2-2.

What I said was that the hope for keeping Jameis is that he can perform for a short stretch (ex: 4 games). I don't think the hope is that he can perform over a long period.

Additionally, I think Taysom could give you 2-2.

And, because of those things, I'd trade Jameis for a 3rd without even thinking.

I agree. Would he do better than Taysom? How much better? Is that worth a 3rd round pick?

Probably, yes.

No one is offering a 3rd Round Pick for Jameis. Jameis is likely worth more to us than any team would pay (conditional late round picks at best).

That was the OP. I agree, nobody is offering a 3rd cause Jameis isn't good.

Would you take a 3rd? If not, what would you take?

I would probably take a 3rd just because that seems to be high value for someone who is not in our long term goals.

I would be extremely hesitant to do it before Haener came back. You would definitely have to sign a Carson Wentz type to at least have a vet backup with some small pulse.

But that isn't going to happen.

His success here is quantifiable. Pretty decent sample. Didn’t even play great. He could win 60% of the games on this year’s schedule. It’s a bit more nuanced but I don’t think Carr has done anything Jamies couldn’t do through two games.

Haven’t we seen enough of Hill in this joker role to leave him be? Leave him be

just taking his contract, straight up, saves us money and would be helpful

Saves us money? Lol
He’s on a one year deal, and we are in that year.

It's fun to speculate but the guys who's jobs depend on every single win won't take the chance lol.
Sitting here in Pensacola It's easy for me to say go for it!

Jameis is a national treasure that creates laughs every week without trying. I would take nothing except his own reality show.

I think Taysom's is better.

Then we made a major mistake getting Carr.

We are talking about a short stretch of games. The most likely scenario is that you end up not needing him. That 3rd rd pick could easily lead to a starter.

I'm not sure if I'd want to trade Winston with Carr getting hit like this.

I love Taysom but I also don’t think we should over use him. Last night his usage was fine and needed. The same people here who advocate using him more will then moan and groan when he fumbles, throws a pick, messes up offensive rhythm, or gets a significant injury. Which all have happened in the past before.

You cant make that call after two games bubba

And no one is giving a third for Jameis. His value has been established when no one wanted to sign him to a deal of any substance

First time the Saints have been 2-0 in a decade. Let's bench the QB.

I dont disagree... id just rather keep Hill in his current role.

We are not going to get a significant pick to where we need to dump Jameis.

A 4th round pick makes me think for a little while. But a 5th or lower i dont even bother
