If Im his agent, im 100% telling him to hold out if the deal is close. You dont go into training camp, all it takes is 1 bad plant and your season is over.

I have a feeling the next CBA will be contentious in trying to negotiate better deals for rookies rather than having to play out that rookie contract.
Thomas needs to be careful, Brees can make a lot of WR's look really good.

Yea, lets overpay a receiver who will be slightly above average due to Teddy Two-Gloves throwing him the ball ROFL!

No way. The last CBA put structures in place to prevent the Jamarcus Russell / Sam Bradford issues

I agree with this. Quite frankly I think Brees, Thomas, and Kamara should be limited in training camp and the preseason. We know what they can do. Give the majority of snaps to guys that need the work like Teddy Bridgewater, Taysom Hill, Trequan Smith, Cam Meredith.

So instead of paying two guys $23.5m (if MT13 gets $20m) this year, you want to pay two guys $21m this year and nearly $29m next year (then have to start trying to resign them)? And included in this, you want to GIVE Minny a first (I.E. a cheap rookie contract)? You would make the worst GM in history.

I think the big player is Sean Payton. Sean Payton doesn’t like when players try to manipulate him, we’ve seen jimmy graham take sean payton to court on if he should be paid like a WR. Traded a season later, brandin cooks spoke out about targets in a blowout win, traded that offseason. Kenny Stills shipped off too.

Theilan is that much better than Ginn so if not a first then a second..paying Michael Thomas 20 million a year isn't worth it no matter how much you like him and your not adding Ginns salary to your numbers or whatever the number two wr will be making during those years so having two great WRs for basically the same price as Thomas and an average receiver is worth it 7 days a week

If this is Drew Brees last year and you have plans to tank or trade what needs to be traded for Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 draft then you can pay Michael Thomas all you want but if the plan is to stay relevant when Brees is done then we may be in a bind with possibly 50 million a year tied up between Thomas and bridgewater

Theilan is better than Ginn, but Thomas is better than Theilan and Diggs. The pairs average out IMO.

False, $20m is going to be the new normal for a top 10 WR, just like QB's will be getting $30. Salary caps rise, and salaries go up. Someone has to be the first WR to make $20m.

False. Ginn has a $3.5m cap hit this year. $20m+$3.5m=$23.5m.

Neither of those are "great WR's." Above average sure, but for sure not top 5, and Diggs is 100% not a top 10.

Easily second best tandem in the league behind Odell and Jarvis. Thomas and Ginn don't make top ten

Ginns contract is up this year so whomever the number two receiver will be most likely makes above 5 million a year so the money is basically a wash
