why would we be looking at a fundamental scheme change when Carmichael has consistently piloted one of the leagues top offenses for a decade?

Wouldnt it be smarter to keep him and get him a QB who isnt mental?

That is totally not true about kittle

Maybe the contract doesn’t change but keeping McDaniel was part of negotiations

I want to put him in my contract,” Kittle said. “You can’t poach him. I want him to be with me the rest of my career.”

I think that’s become an old fashioned way of thinking. A great offense will In most cases beat a great defense. I mean every team left in the playoffs is led by an offensive minded head coach. Last postseason 3 of the last 4 teams were led by offensive minded coaches. And the same in 2019.

Again, I don't feel strongly, but I do still disagree with you.
The best, high profile QBs that we played this year was Bradyx2, Rodgers, Wilson, and Josh Allen.

Rodgers we beat 38-3
Brady we beat 36-27 & 9-0
Allen we lost 6-31, but that was also with Simeian at QB and several injuries.
That's good D trumping good O in my mind.

Looking at the last 5 super bowl champions you have 2021-Bucs with Tom Brady, KC with Mahomes, Patriots with Tom Brady, Eagles with Foles, Patriots with Tom Brady. Yes Brady & Mahomes are elite QBs and they account for 4 of the last 5, but I would argue Mahomes is the outlier and the exception to this rule. Brady, for as great as he is, has always been on cap friendly deals and partially due to that has always had higher ranked defenses which has helped out tremendously

49ers have best team this season according to Romo. He was discussing 9ers has better stats than other teams. I forgot all he said but it was pretty interesting.

You got to have both. The Saints or Denver werent going to win it all without a star QB. In fact, if you look at a ranking of top QB's in the league, it matches the final team rankings better than the defensive rankings do.

There are always outliers, of course - I just dont see teams winning superbowls without both elite QB play and a top half defense.

you’re using examples of singular instances and not big picture where all of these teams have had better records than us by seasons end.

Makes sense but we won’t do it. We’ll hire fricking Dennis Allen because he’s Mickey and Ireland’s boy and it’s the easiest hire

Because he’s also not long for retirement. He’s getting up there. If we’re going to transition from Payton, then rip the band aid off and go get an offensive minded HC

Gary Chambers certainly wants to make this happen in Louisiana. Spare me the getting pissy. I am just making a joke about his recent political ad. Not saying I support him or he even has a prayer.

I want the next Sean McVay. Guy hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet, but he’s a winner.
