I don’t have any stats to back it but supposedly this guy will be a superstar. He supposedly is the brains behind Shanahan’s run game scheme. Using Deebo Samuel and all their backs to dominate other teams just in the run game. With Kamara I would assume he can do something special with our run game. I’d love to take a risk on a guy like this with the team we have at the moment and resign Winston, draft a deebo type receiver and let this man work.

Also supposedly George kittle had his new contract structured where if McDaniel were to leave then his contract would change in some kind of way or be voided

A little article on McDaniel

I don't know much about him, but I'm intrigued.

I’m more in favor of an offensive guy as HC than Defensive. So I’d be intrigued.

I wouldn't say he is the brains behind shanahan's run scheme but he helps create new plays.

Shanahan has been a master oc before mcdaniel.

I would definitely interview him.

I hope these are the kind of avenues the saints go down to find a head coach

I’d take a swing on him 1000x over some retread. Players love him and he’s smart as hell.

the 9ers run a pretty boring, run heavy offense that only really works if the defense plays lights out.

Literally any guy they toss in there crushes it at running back. Samuel has over 1400 receiving yards. They also have limitations at the qb position.

It’s a great scheme.

When you have a superstar RB and a coach that knows how to get that guy space there’s nothing boring about that

True, but they really dont ask much of the QB. Just need a guy who doesnt f*ck up.

I don't feel strongly one way or other in general as far as offensive minded or defensive minded for HC, but I do subscribe to the theory that defense wins championships so I do tend to lean that way. However with our D carrying the load, and having so many questions on Offense, I think we would benefit in the more immediate future from having an offensive minded HC right now.

What Mike McDaniel has done in San Francisco is pretty impressive. Garropolo holds them back to some degree yet they are consistent winners

I think that’s become an old fashioned way of thinking. A great offense will In most cases beat a great defense. I mean every team left in the playoffs is led by an offensive minded head coach. Last postseason 3 of the last 4 teams were led by offensive minded coaches. And the same in 2019.

well.. thats the thing. you dont NEED a superstar running back at all. They were lighting shite up with Raheem Mostert.

Jimmy Garopollo is borderline too mistake prone for this offense. How do you think Tay Tay and Jamies are going to do? We also have nothing resembling a tight end.

I understand the interest, but we can do much better.

A top 10 defense, paired with a star QB usually wins championships.

The days of a defense carrying a mediocre QB are over, IMO.
